This 1989 ASC/McLaren Mustang only has 51,230 original miles (title reads exempt). ASC/McLaren began their customization of the Ford Mustang in 1987 and ended production in 1990. During this four-year span, a total of 1,806 cars were produced. In 1989 they produced 289 cars. This is one of 52 in this color combination. This is car #029 produced in 1989. ASC/McLaren received LX coupes with GT suspension and the GT front fascia directly from Ford. They removed the top, pulled the windshield back 20 degrees, and installed their custom top and tonneau cover, added custom ASC rims, side skirts, taillight covers and a rear spoiler. They removed the rear seat, added custom storage, added extra padding to seats and recovered in embroidered leather. Door panels and armrests were also changed, and a 140mph speedometer was added. This car has the reliable and durable 5.0-liter V8 engine and is optioned with the 4-speed automatic transmission. New paint in ASC custom color of Keewnau White. New tires and new rear shocks. The interior has been either replaced with NOS or refurbished to be original quality. ASC/McLarens have a stock Mustang GT independent front suspension system consisting of struts, performance springs and a 1.3-inch anti-roll bar. At the opposite end was the Mustang's Quadra-Shock system comprised of two vertically installed gas shocks working in unison with two conventional gas shocks horizontally mounted to the differential - the durable 8.8-inch Traction-Lok rear end. To prevent unwanted twisting and wheel hop, an 0.83-inch anti-roll bar was also included. The Mustang GT's power front disc/rear drum brake system was standard equipment. This car has a new Cambria three-window manually operated convertible top. Custom ASC/Mclaren emblems and embossed body parts. The ASC Fender Tag from Ford is still in place. Key tag from original dealer and other documents are included.[/img][/b] |
