I'm at about 60k miles on my 86 convertible. Is it time to replace the serpentine belt? I wanted to take a ride to Texas so before I drive it too far wanted your opinion

I'd just inspect it and see what it looks like. They are kind of tough and don't break often.

Or just replace it if you don't know its age. They aren't too expensive and are a 5 min job to replace.

Maybe take a spare along? $25 now vs a walk and $25 on the side of the road.

They're very easy to install. You just need a breaker bar. There should be a routing decal on the radiator support.
