Now I'm no Vert expert but every ASC shift knob I have seen wrapped in leather was black. It's a factory knob, covered in leather. Originally sourced from Canada but the original firm is long gone.

Henry is out of refurbs at the moment, but a competent leather shop should be able to recover yours any way you wish for about $100.

Here's a picture of one:

I think they were the same for all years?

Standard Transmission verts are pretty rare, so they probably just didn't bother.

It looks like Henry has some now, $75, black

Also, below link to Henry's site shows pictures of Mustangs. about 2/3 the way down on the left is an interior that is beige. The console area is all black with black knob and black shifter boot.

Good luck!

What Negsum posted is all I have ever seen in an ASC manual car.

What was posted from Henry's site is quite different and more Turbo Coupe-ish.

Henry has lost his normal leather vendor and hasn't replaced him yet.

Yeah, I call that style the SVO shift knob. It's not the correct ASC style with the open face.

I believe there is an open faced one on the newer models, 4th gen factory shifter. I was looking around a few months ago. Probably still available from Ford. Of course it would not be ASC original.

THe more I look at ASC cars they all have the black shift boot and knob no matter the color of interior. I'd tink someone changed out my boot and put in a stupid silver knob.

I'm sure of it. When the leather gets worn and bad enough, then people will just do what's easiest and swap in something aftermarket.

The 4th gen one I mentioned, leather wrapped with silver insert is the Cobra style I believe for $39 . I saw photos at LMR under 79-93. Original leather ones will be $200+
