Thanks to 5.0Dan and my ever increasing computer "skills" along with Mercury Salesman's Price Guides and info from ascMcLaren themselves, I have pieced together HOW the 1984 units were ordered when they were eventually going to be converted to the 2-Seat Roadsters. Here's How:-

$07,749.00 - Capri GS (Yes, they used the GS Model, not the Base, nor the "L" nor the highline RS)
1C = Raven Black (Added ASC White for 1985 & 2 Blues & a Silver in '86)

$ 01,053.00 - "VIP" Package (Available to the public). The VIP added $1,053.00 worth of options & then discounted them $653.00 to $400.00.

$00,110.00 - Tinted Glass (Later altered to "FLEET ONLY" Tint Windshield)

Individual Options made mandatory on 84 & 85 'Verts:-
$01,372.00 - 302 V8 Engine (A Six Cyl. was available beginning in 1986)
$00,551.00 - Select-Shift Automatic w/Overdrive (This in fact WAS an option, as a 5-Speed Manual was Standard. This was the only "Say So" a retail buyer had, other than exterior paint color.)
$00,743.00 - Air Conditioning
$00,177.00 - Power Lock Group (The Hatch Release doubled as a Trunk Release in the final product).
Minus (-) $653.00 "Savings" from VIP Pkg.
MINUS (-) $ 165.00 "Convertible Equipment Delete (That I STILL cannot get a listing of.......... )
MINUS $00,148.00 (As a courtesy to ascMcLaren, they were allowed to delete the Am Fm Stereo & the 2 rear speakers from the VIP Group ~ This deletion was NOT ALLOWED to retail dealers, nor the buying public. NO DELETIONS WERE ALLOWED FROM A V.I.P. GROUP. ASC was accommodated AND given the $653.00 Discount, too.

$11,053.00 - Total for an Automatic Tranny car !
$10,502.00 - Total for a 5-Speed Manual car !

Prices changed for 1985 and again for 1986, when add'l. Options and deletions were brought in. A 6 Cylinder & Non-Recaro Seats, could be had for 1986. Seats used were the stock Capri GS low line with applied headrests, recoved in ascMcLaren specific Leather. (They came from Mercury in Cloth, that was removed by ascMcLaren.

The above pricing is HOW the cars arrived AT ascMcLaren, and does NOT include the conversion process to become a Convertible 2-Seater!!
