When an ascMcLaren authorized Ford Dealer wanted to order an ascMcLaren it was a totally different procedure than ordering a "Mustang".

So...I began looking through my stuff to see what I could find, that I had not seen before....

D32 holds the key for the 1987-1990 'Verts. D32 was THE code for an ascMcLaren, but...it was a process ironed out between Ford Motor Company and ascMcLaren. In each year there were small changes, so the computer program had to slightly adjusted.

My question regarding any 1987s WITH TILT WHEEL, was to confirm that which was a "gray-area".
Below I will print out each years basic build (exclusive of ascMcLaren installed options, but rather HOW FORD DID IT. Most here know the ascMcLaren options year-by-year.

1987 D32 Code:-
1987 Ford Mustang LX 2-Door Sedan V-8 302 Cu In

Climate Control Group which was:- Air Conditioning / Premium Sound System of upgraded speakers & 4-Channel Amp. and Tinted Glass.

Special Value Group which was:- Pwr. Door Locks & Remote Trunk Release & Remote Fuel Lock and Am Fm Electronic Stereo with Search Feature & Cassette Player.

1988 D32 Code:-
1988 Ford Mustang LX 2-Door Sedan V-8 302 Cu. In.

Special Value Group (as above for 1987), PLUS the addition of Dual Electric Exterior Mirrors at mid-year.

Custom Equipment Group:
Air Conditioning, Tinted Glass, Illuminated Visor Vanity Mirrors, Power Windows, and Speed Control.

1989 Ford Mustang LX 2-Door Sedan - 302 V-8

Preferred Equipment Package:
Dual Electric Exterior Mirrors, Speed Control,
Passenger-Side Illuminated Vanity Mirror (now just one Illuminated Mirror),
Power Locks, Remote Fuel Door Lock & Trunk Release, Am Fm Electronic Stereo, with search & Cassette Player.

1990 Ford Mustang LX 2-Door Coupe with 302 V-8

Revised Preferred Equipment Package:--
Pwr. Windows, Pwr. Door locks, Remote Trunk Release,
Dual Electric Exterior Mirrors, Speed Control,
Am Fm Electronic Stereo w/Digital Clock Premium Sound
System & Cassette Player, Air Conditioning.
((Tinted Glass had become Standard beginning 1988))

ALL cars were painted BLACK on the exterior, EXCEPT cars ordered with Regatta Blue (1987 to 1989) -OR- Crystal Blue (1990 only) INTERIOR. Those cars were exterior painted in Oxford White, as the master computer was set up to spit out a car ordered with a black exterior AND a blue interior.

Cars with blue interior presented a more involved conversion, as the entire engine had to be covered so the engine bay could be painted BLACK, as were all the other units.
