Problem solved! I let some silicone run down the posts, gave it some time to work and they headreats slipped down easily.

Pull your old motor and take it with you shopping. GM used this assembly for years. Lincoln used it also. Just check the part number.

check your local salvage yards. I just got one out of a '91 cadillac and the part # was the same as mine in the Mclaren.

It seems some of you are more interested in talking computers than helping me solve my problem. I still would like a suggestion on adjusting the height of the headrests. I downloaded the manual, unfortunately it is for the top not the seats.

Can the height of the headrests be adjusted up and down? How? Mine are too high and I would like to bring them down closer to the seatback.

I have determined our 1985 convert is 1 of 94 built with the white/blue combination. Ours has the 4 speed auto. How can I find out how many of the wht/blu '85 converts had manual trans?

Discoloration under rear of convertible top
My ASC is white and there is a yellowish/brown discoloration on the white tuneau cover where it meets the back bow of the top. Is there a good way to remove this? It looks crappy when the top is down.

I have a 1985 ASC convertible. I removed the Ricaro seats and after reinstalling them the trunk will not release from the glovebox button. Where do I start to look for a solution?
