All ASC's were hand painted. They came from Ford with a Factory paint job. This means that only the metal shell would have been color coated. It would be real unusual to paint bright yellow over black because of opacity issues though, but not impossible. Overspray is not a real good thing to look ...

I thought about this a little more and here's some more info. I forgot that the undercoating process was done after the paint process at the OE plant before being sent over to Livonia. When I saw them being painted they had no interior. They did nothing to stop overspray from getting on the undercarriage. Their focus was on the exterior. I don't remember if they opened the doors to do a proper jamb color change. That should be very easy to check however. Just open the door and ...

Funny that they didn't mention why the factory stopped making convertibles? (lawsuits) and had to get ASC to make them to reduce their exposure.

When I walked through the ASC factory in 86 they told me that they cut the A-pillar and pulled it back ~24º or something. So the windshield should be the same. I didn't see anyone pulling out windshields on the assembly line.
