Those numbers show your wife's car just a tiny bit lower in the rear than the front, unlike either mine OR the '85 LX I measured. This is interesting. It would be nice to find the original specs somewhere. If that is the original factory height, mine is definitely lowered. I drove it quite a bit ...

Well, I never got any measurements from anyone but pressed on. We decided from a multitude of pictures I gathered online that the car was pretty much the original ride height. Just for comparison I measured an '85 LX in the local Mustang club at 26.5" at the front wheel well and 27.5" at the rear ...

Ride height help needed...
Need some help from an '88 owner with original suspension. '87 or '89 may be same too. Sitting on flat surface, I need to know the height from the ground at the center of wheel well opening for both front & back wheels ... either side. Trying to fix a suspension problem on mine.

Mine was missing the covers entirely. I got the covers from Henry but after several months of checking he still had no outside seals. I went to Lowes and got some black foam weather seal that is self-stick on one side. I cut pieces to fit tight fro top to bottom around the teaillight curve, stuck ...

Re: Fox Mustang
All ASC Fox bodies started with the hatch back body. Everything I have ever seen/read indicated that all the ASC Mustang convertibles started life as coupes/notch backs. Muscat's vision was for a 2 seat convertible. But when ASC started with the Capri rather than the Mustang, and the Capri was ...

Wine top?
My Black Cherry '88 currently has a black roof, but according to the production figures posted by Sandy that cannot be original. My interior is beige (Black Cherry w/black top should have gray interior ...a combination I think would look terrible ...only 2 built). That info says my top was most ...

I got mine kind of the same way ...just happened across it about 6 months ago. Mine was driven only about 1,800 miles in the past 17 years, and had to have been in climate controlled storage. Many people are puzzled when they see it, but it is neat to come across the rare someone who knows exactly ...

Re: transmission production breakdown
Yes. Short answer is a bit under 28% were built with the manual transmission. There is all kinds of build number info here http://www.ascmclaren.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=804survivor wrote:Is there a production numbers breakdown of manual and automatic transmissions cars for model year 1988

Sorry, can't really help with replacing the cable. Mine was there, just not working well. As for the cable being long, the uninstalled length doesn't matter as long as it isn't too short. The pull length is adjusted by where the ends of the housing are mounted llike the old heater cables, bicycle ...

I've not had my '88 long, but have had some interesting conversations with people who did not know what it is. One guess was a Cadillac Cimarron. I recall only two who knew what it was. Sounds like I am in a discussion here with folks who prefer the Capri version, but I generally like the Mustang ...

On my 88, the cable in the pax side box releases the tonneau cover. The cable on the driver's side releases the trunk. The tonneau release was very difficult, and the trunk release did not work when I got the car. I had to remount the end on the trunk latch to get it working, but it still takes a ...
