Re: Anybody selling a coupe?

I own the Official GPIV Pace Car. According to the Marti Report, it went through Hilltop. If you have any remembrances of the car, I'd love to here from you. Pics would be phenomenal. PM me. Thanks!

Almost...need an 84 vert, 86 FP Coupe and a Euro Coupe. Have 85 Coupe (2), 85 vert, Pace Car, 86 V8 vert (2) and 86 V6.

There were 17 possibly produced with gray deluxe door panels - the silver Spring Specials. The thread with the 1986 color breakout states the interiors were black, but mine is based on the standard gray. I don't know if all 17 were made with the deluxe interior, but I know for sure one was.

Yes ...

Even more of a shame is that if it's the original color, it's one of only 12 Paris Blue Spring Specials. The top and wheels are the wrong color, so hard to say though.

Dan,

I took a look at my '86 silver spring special; it's doesn't have any pinstripe. Sorry, I was hoping I could help. It may, or may not, have been an asc add-on. Could have been a dealer add.

I hope someone else is able to assist.

Good luck,

Keith

Sandy's post seems to combine Spring Special info with V6 info when they are actually separate. Owning both a Paris Blue and a Sterling Silver Spring Special, as well as a 3.8SC, some of his info regarding the 3.8SC V6 cars is not 100% correct.

My V6 is red, with gold wheels, leather standard ...

Being silver, it should be a 1 of 3. If it were charcoal gray with the black stripes, then it would be 1 of 1 (and numbered #105 from what I have come across).

Needs some TLC, but the price seems in the range if the photos are accurate.
That car is black with silver stripes, and #76 not 67.

Re: Not 1984

If you look at the ebay pictures, engine etc, it is definately 1986 with the efi. It also has 86 body side molding and dual exhaust.

My conclusion is the second digit of the VIN was typed incorrectly. VIN 600634 would be in line with the early 86 car vins.

Possibly, but the "E" in EF620634 would ...

If only there was an ascMcLaren museum :)

The bright side is: if heavily rear-ended, the driver of a McLaren roadster won't be decapitated.

Mike

Been contemplating the 'museum' idea for a while...though not sure it would generate much foot traffic.

But, actually considering this 84 if it can ...

Looks nice. Very unusual car. That doesn't look like the Charcoal Gray of any others - too dark and brownish (actually never seen that color on any Capri), and it should have orange wheels, not gold.

First thought is someone bought the decor package and gold wheels and self-installed on a regular ...

Another one I'd like to have - a nice bookend to #0001; one with decor pkg, one w/o. Not in the cards for now though.
