Thanks for all the replies. Turns out I need rods from a 1985-93 FOX Body with a sunroof or T-Tops. The others have a different shape.

Now to figure out where to get the oddball tan carpet that runs on the sides of the console and rear bucket compartments. This resto is fun but infuriating at times.

sun-visor rod needed for 1985 ASC convertible

I didn't think these were custom but it appears they might be. https://photos.app.goo.gl/fZFM2CnyFcGE81tZ6 does this look familiar to anyone?

Thanks,

I could have this re-chromed but if I could find new I would prefer that route.[/code]

Now I am hitting my stride 2 steps forward and 1 step back of course.

Got it to run on an alternate fuel source after finding the fuel tank was total trash. Also found it needs a water pump. Here's me now hoping the studs don't snap off in the block.

Awesome news. If you ask me the new owners are getting in at the perfect time. I think we are now at the point where these cars value it going no where but up.

Another installment. Brought my 14 Year Old in the on getting it in shape. Love to use this as an opportunity to teach the next generation that these cars are cool. Will be doing an in-depth starter rebuild video this coming weekend.

Re: Dash

I believe the original wood dash panels are available. I used the earlier Mustang faux wood panels as a quick fix.

The seat covers have to be custom made as the lower cushion was not supported by Recaro. I had mine done a while back.

Thanks! So the ones Hank has are correct? Also the place I am ...

1985 ASC Convertible sitting 12 years will be going soon.

I am going on the Hot Rod Power Tour this year and plan to take my 85 convertible. Does anyone know what type of wood is used on the dash? The repop stuff is the wrong color (too dark) I have taken a "bare all" video of what I am up against with this car. Oh and I have a line on getting new recaro ...

Sad on that one it really looks like it's worth saving. If I were closer to Florida I would definitely be looking.

Ford and Chevy didn't even seem to try in the mini van market. They were doing much better with SUV's and today the little micro cars are the hot ticket. My wife has a 2010 Chrysler 4.0L minivan. The engine was a Daimler design from when the 2 companies were merged and I'll just say I wouldn't want ...

612848 is mine - Blue with Orange

factory sunroof car with power locks I think make it a bit rare.

Currently in a trailer about to undergo a full resto. Soon as my resto-mod of the 67 RS/SS is done.
