I also asked him about this so called 20k reserve and he quote ,"I never spoke to anybody about a reserve $, Thats why it's called a reserve". Sounds like someone is trying to scare lookers off!
It wasn't a $20k reserve that people are talking about...somebody had talked to him long before the ebay ad came up about purchasing it and he was quoted $20k to buy it outright.

However, based on that, it is assumed that the reserve is going to be near $20k

How do possible buyers know that the interior pics in your album are NOT that of your car, since it's your Navy car in the garage, yourour Navy car's gold rims and your Navy car's back end picture. How do they know that the interior pics are none other than your car's interior ? Being interspaced with pics of your car before & after the interior shots.....that the interior is that of car # 67, the Silver one ?

If I was gonna bid on a car, I'd want photos like those of mines, as posted above. Clear, outdoors shots of all 4 sides, underhood, in the hatch, close ups of the rims, & interior, and anything & everything else.

One of the photos shows the dash plaque #67.

I agree, more pictures would help on the sale.

Honestly,I think this coupe is one of the nicest looking ASC Capri
coupes, I have seen for sale on ebay.

coupes do take a beating and often come up in BAD shape this one is nice... but the seller really needs to add more pics of the car. from the pics in 1badasc album i see no radar... and is that car black with no stripes?

black coupe

Post by 1BADASC »

The car is black (not navy)all the gold stripes were faded , so i had them removed but I do have new ones to go on. It also has t-tops and the interior was so bad that I replaced it with a complete oem factory tan. Its not original but makes it different and looks better wit the gold stripes. Still have to mount stereo & whistler and going to have the red trim on seats done in black. My 86 hatch is being repainted ,the hatch on car is a spare.

I Have to agree. A Black Coupe ascMcLaren with Gold Stripes looks better with the Sand Beige interior, rather than the Light Gray.

The Silver (three) cars all could only be had with the black striping, decals, logos. The Smoke Grey (as mine is) couled be had with either the Popsicle Orange or the Silver Metallic striping. The Oxford White was only with the Popsicle Orange, while the Raven Black could be had with Gold Metallic, Popsicle Orange or Platinum Silver Metallic Striping, Decals, & Logos. The Dark Blue could be with the Popsicle Orange, the Gold Metallic or the Platinum Silver.

So..... there were a grand total of 10 combinations available

But, the striping dictated the wheel color.

That interior on the grey car isn't bad, but I have to say it surely isn't a 8K+ car. There is a stain on the driver seat, missing radar detector, carpet is ragged out on drivers side floor, etc etc etc. I know the car has been used, but it doesn't look much better than mine which was a $4000 car. Maybe I just got a great deal!

I'm still hesitant to why he won't post the pictures in the auction.

In my opinion, it should have already passed the reserve! Its going to be like the black and incorrectly oranged stripe 86 from a few weeks back. Car needs work and they wont take under 7k. They will end up keeping it probably.
