Goes to show you that someone out there gives a little crap about our cars.... However, also goes to show you where the market is. Rarity and demand also has a price. Motorsport (who has never been too cheap) use to sell these harnesses for $80....

Yes, but was it exactly the same as the original part?

If so, too bad, it could have saved me a few $$.

That one from Alloy Metal Products is supposed to be made exactly to original specs.

ARISE FROM THE DEAD!

Brent, is there any mention of Charcoal trim paint in the 1986 and up Motorsport catalogs?

I got 1984 and 1985 and was looking through it. I see the speedo and also spied some black trim paint.

I wonder what the part number is for Charcoal Grey if ever they had it.

Exactly. I was wondering if in 1986 or later they listed Charcoal Grey too.

Sorry Mike, no charcoal.
From '84-'86 all of the paints were the same, in '87 they added Ford Grey to the engine enamel's. After that there were no additions or deletions until all of the paint dissapeared in the 1992 catalog.

None of that paint was a true Ford O.E. mix, all of the paint was sourced from VHT and is still available today, for example the black hood & bumper paint is VHT part # SP-27.

Did you like the "Motorsport" decal kit on page 42 of the 1984 catalog?
Here is what it looks like in color on my sandrail. :)

mike pulled out the old 140 speedo post and i thought it was time to do some looking. i searched the web for a few days and have come up with not much... i found info that on september 1st 1982 a federal law mandated the 85 MPH speedo in ALL cars to be sold in the states. but i found no info on when this law was revised. some said its still in the books just no one cares anymore. i did find some info that GM started using the higher speed speedo in LATE 86 camaros. alot of stuff points at 85/86 for when the law was switched.

sandy do you have the 140 speedo?

does anyone have an 85 that came with a 140 speedo?

does anyone have an 86 with out a 140 speedo?

My 1986 Coupe has a 140 Speedo from Ford Motorsport, installed at asc McLaren. The 2 Verts of 1990 have 85MPH units.

That's because it's correct for a EuroCoupe.
