Looks like a very well kept one in his photos a few on drivers side it looks like paintwork on door but most likley a tree shadow. I can see why there was only 5 built ever heard of no sale blue? But years later she may be far more sought after.

I jave known of the car for 12 years as wll as speaking to the owner.
As far back as I can recall,he has spoken of selling it.

I know nothing of its condition, other than it seems to look okay

Sea Foam Aqua, very light and bright. White leather & top.

Wasn't this guy somewhat unreasonable with his asking price? If he has become more reasonable, I want it.

If I can swing a deal, anyone interested in a 1988 Azura Blue/Blue/Blue ASC/McLaren? Give me a week, and I can have it back completely stock. Right now, it has a Hurst short throw, a 2000 Mustang cassette and CD player, Koni DA shocks (my race backups, they were just gathering dust) short tube unequal length headers, cat X-pipe, Borla cat back and aluminum drive shaft. I've detailed the undercarriage and corrected all the broken items in the interior and exterior, along with new weatherstrip (doors and windshield surround, thanks Henry!). I've replaced all the bushings with urethane EXCEPT for the front and rear control arms. Haven't gone into the engine compartment to any great degree, just did a quick cleanup. I have all the original parts. Has about 17K+ miles.

I don't need a shake-up like this right now, which is when things like this happen. I'm finally starting to like my 88 as the "personalization" of the car has me bonding with it. But an Aqua 90 is my Vahalla, as it were.

And, on a personal note LET'S GO SOMERSET PATRIOTS!!! BEAT THE NEWARK BEARS!!!

If anyone is interested in my McLaren, drop me a line.

rlyons13, post an ad in the classifieds. Probably more visibility there.

I would post an ad IF I was 100% serious. Sandy knows how much I love the aqua cars and referred me to this guy a year or so ago. I seem to remember he wanted over $20K for it. Hell, you can get one of Henry's museum pieces for less! I have a feeling this guy has some inflated feeling of his car's worth. But, if not, you all may have a shot at a real nice 1988 5-speed car. I'd even ask me to leave the modifications on, as they are extremely subtle but add to the enjoyment.

Shelby, it's not blue, it's Aqua, Non-Metallic and very bright. Not medium but light in shade.

This pic best represents the actual color. This open trunk lid shot is 99% true.

Yes, your right Sandy, didn't mean to call it blue. After looking at it again, it ain't for me. Its a very "acquired taste" color.

I'd go after that Paris blue one though, very cool color.

Sea Foam Aqua came from the Ford Festiva and later from the Ford Aspire, where it was called "AQUA"

If you watch on the road, you'll see one within 2 months.
I posted on this site a chart called "Where did that ascMcLaren COLOR come from..."

Wow it takes a little time to see that it is a mclaren with that color. Very different.

What is that car worth?

You shoulda all seen the OTHER 1-of-1 (of a NEW-FOR-1990) color, called "Coral Red" - mismoemer if ever....

Coral Red was a high metallic content light pink. Sort of a Pink Pearlescent. It comes from Porsche. I have a pic of it, if anyone wants to send me their e-mail I can send it. I cannot print it. I don't have the needed program to do it.

Sandy, about that Coral Red car, being the registrar for us, do you know where this car is/who owns it? I'm not asking for info on it, just that its registered or totaled or that you know where it is?

Question. I know that ASC would produce cars "blindly" in one respect, when it came to the common colors of white, red, black, with the "common" top and interior color combos, and then sent to dealership floors. Now, they had their color list of what was offered for each year, they didn't just build the cars that were made in numbers of 3 or less did they? Those were "special" order cars that were color designed by the customer when they walked in a dealership and ordered what they wanted. Like this coral red car?
