88 mclaren at Mecum High Performance Auction in Kansas City

Just wanted to pass this on. I attended a large performance car auction in KC this past weekend and an 88 Mclaren Vert crossed the auction block. It was red with a grey interior, straight car but the paint had started fading towards pink and the passenger seat had a quarter size hole in the bottom cushion. Car sold for 11250...Vin 1FABP4OE5JF157342

I thought about putting my Mclaren Capri in this auction but hesitated at the last minute. That is a very good price without me having seen the car.

I would have and will now take $10,000 for mine and it sounds a lot better than the one that sold at the auction.

In Independence on Lees Summit road there sits occasionally an 87 with 11,000 miles on it. The guy wanted $14,000 but has for over 6 months now. Funy car it has "decals" in gold on a black/tan configuration with ASC MClaren spelled out. Read quarters and on the side of hood front? I am going too fast as I pass this car to get a good view.

Dang, sounds like very good money considering your description. Who ran the auction? Do they have a website that includes photos and descriptions of the cars that were auctioned?

Thanks. It isn't a super-low mileage car, but in those two photos, it looks to be in nice shape. I think that the seller should be happy with the price.

The car was wearing grey or anthracite basket weave Mclaren rims which are probably not correct for an 88 Mustang Mclaren. Weren't those rims used only on the Capri versions??

With black roof and grey interior, yes, those wheels were correct.
