Spotted an ASC/Mcalaren in the movies

Hey Sandy, I was looking throught some of the information on Hanks web page and saw some info credited to you. In this info you said that an ASC/Mclaren was purchased by MGM Studios and was used in a movie but you did not know which movie.

I don't know if this is still the case, maybe I am late to the game, but I think I saw a black vert in the movie "A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story". I just saw if from the back, for a moment in one scene. It may have been in others, I don't know, I did not watch the whole movie. It was driven by one of the main characters so it is possible it was in other scenes.

Can anyone confirm this?

There's also one featured in a Keanu Reeves movie, Brotherhood of Justice. It's a red convertible Capri.

The only movie that I am 100% sure of is the one Tom noted above.

The car I spoke of that you read about on Hank's site was a Silver car, ordered with the Sand Beige Recaros & a Tan Roof. She was a 1986 Capri (If my memory is working today....) The car was SOLD to M-G-M studios in California and deliver to them. Was it ever actually USED in a movie? I have no idea ! (or) did someone who works there buy it for personal use? I have no idea. I did find the car a few years ago in the hands of a 3rd or 4th owner. At that time, the car was in Florida !

Oh man you forgot Night of the Creeps pretty creative horror movie back in 86 the boyfriend of the main girl becomes a Zombie and he drives a red McLaren Capri convert with the plates "Bradster"

I saw that movie a long time ago! I remember the car. Is there a movie that has the ASC Mustang in it?

I do not know of any other movies with our cars in them.

MGM did purchase that car I mentioned in this thread, and it was indeed a "1-OFF" ! Silver Metallic Capri Convert, with Sand Beige Recaros & a Tan roof. Last known to be somewhere in Florida.

We can still make it happen! I tried to get my '89 in the new movie (not released yet-but soon) Kids in America with Topher Grace. It was all set until they asked if it was white. It is and that was done. They were shooting at nght and its too hard to light white cars. So I'm in the movie as a banker extra. Currently they are filming SIS for Sppike TV here in Phoenix. They asked for vehicle photos so I submitted again. We'll see. So if you sign up with your local talent agency (for free) you may get a call.

I received the DVD (Brotherhood of Justice) in the mail yesterday. I didn't watch it yet but I did fast forward to the good scenes. The car appears to be an early 85' model. It doesn't have a third brake light, and has the 2 into 1 into 2 exhaust that exit's on the drivers side (My 85' Capri RS had this, build date 10/84). It does have the Recaros.

Sandy, do you have any info on this car? does it still exist? Does anyone here have it tucked away?

My brother supplies cars to the movies and back in the min 80's he drove home a Mclaren Capri I believe that was used in shooting. Since then I have always wanted one. I'll ping him to find out what movie it was in.

OK so he says there were 2 they drove. Both were McLaren Capri promo cars direct from ASC. One was a blue coupe with the orange trim that was used in several TV shows including RipTide and the other a red convertible that he thinks was in Iron Eagle? He's checking with his business partner to get some specifics.
