Titles will never have a reliable Trim Level.

Nothing in the VIN determines whether a car is a GT or LX, therefore many titles have random GT/LX designations.

Yes Mike you know this the vin does denote this for example. Lets use 1990 a p44 is a lx vert and p45 is a gt vert. A p40 is a lx coupe and the starting chassie for the ASC'S. The p41 is the lx hatch and the p42 is a gt hardtop and if looking at vin# the E in the vin 8th digit on the lx cars tells you it is a factory 5.0.

What vin character shows the LX/GT trim level?

What's a P44? Is that in the later vins? or is that something on the door tag?

So I went looking, so for 87+ did they have different body codes in the vin for LX vs GT? That would be a change from the 79-86 cars which had the same body code regardless of trim package.

If that is the case, then I am wrong. For 87+ the vin would determine the trim level and it would be possible to show up on the title.

For 79-86 there is no way to tell, and we see titles all over the map as far as the trim level.

I cannot check my cars as they are in heated hibernation for the winter, but, if I can recall correctly, the VIN indicates they are V-8 LX 2-Dr. Post Sedans.
