Hi Sandy here are the two body tags found on my 86 capri vert number 62. If you remember this cas has a dealer installed A/C.

this small tag was located next to the hood latch just to its right. (driver side)

Has anyone on this site ever seen one of these before, or have one ON their Capri Convertible?

I think it's pretty interesting. IF IF IF your car was a1984, I would figure it was put on so FoMoCo assembly line workers whould know how to build it - but, it's a 1986, yes ? I do not think it had any direct relationship to the lack of factory A/C. Very interesting. (I want one !!)

I don't have the car in front of me right now but I'm pretty sure my 83 has one. I think I put a picture of it (albeit a small crappy one) in my album.

Here's a better sized photo of the tag. Mine is more towards the passenge side. I thought all mclarens have this secondary buck tag somewhere on them. I'll be looking at a 85 vert this week more than likely -- I'll see if that one's got one.

Mine is afixed to the front lip of the radiator support not the top and is hanging down from only one screw. It is almost hidden by the hood latch.
