Recaro seats

I am buying a pair of recaro cloth seats. I don't know what to do because i am in despairete need of a seat, My driver seat is ripped to shredds. I don't know weather to buy these seats and have them recovered in leather( which will cost me 800.00 not counting buying the seats) or sale them and have the original ones repaired. I bought them because they are so supportive and comfortable. I called recaro and they don't have that pattern in leather anymore. Please give advice. the seats are grey cloth. I don't know how to add a pic so i wil;l put pics in my album. Those spots on the seats in the pics are water spots from my hands

I would say that it all depends on what you want out of the car. Are you an originality freak? If so, you could use these seats for a while whilst you have the originals rebuilt. If not, keep driving on the trashed ones, and get these recovered.

Personally, I am not an originality freak, though I do not want to do anything too crazy to my car. Judging from the pics of the blue car in your album, I would think you don't have any problem with mild modifications either.

Anyway, there are my thoughts.

I would contact Hank in Florida & purchase a new left & right side seat cover(s) in Sand Beige. (This is for your Royal Gold '89 McLaren, right?) It's so very rare, I would certainly keep it all original !!

you should be able to get a regular gt or lx seat to take parts from and get a set of covers from hank....btw...nice ride!!!!!!!

I noticed in your album that the photos of the white '86 vert are labeled "sale car". Is this car for sale? If so, what are the details - 5speed or auto, mileage, any additional pics?

ken you should think about selling your seats to the guy that wants them. then maybe you can get some money twards getting yours recoverd.

Yes that was my 1986 GS 5.0. Was an awesome car and I sold it with 169K on the clock and still looked like it had less than 50K on it. The owner who bought it still keeps in touch. I told him when he's ready to sell I'd buy it back!

I need the seats for my M81. The original LS's were gone when I bought it!

I will think about selling them. These are some really comfortable seats.
How much do recaro's cost? I was looking at some beige ones on ebay. It said that they were Saleen style recaros. I really would hate to peel these apart. The white car in my album was a car that i came across last year at the dream cruise. I will call and see if he still has it.
