Mercury Capri version.
Rare Car. Only Year with the 5.0 TBI Engine.
Same power as Ford Mustang 302 5.0 but in a rare car!
Nice Mercury Capri’s are hard to come but so don’t let this doubly rare automobile get away.
This is a 4 speed automatic transmission car that runs excellent!
I have owned this car since 2000.
My neighbor owned it before me.
Just over 61,300 miles! Less than 2,500 a year!
I have put less than 3,000 in four years!
Usually only use it on long trips out to my brothers house in Hershey Pa. about 260 mile around trip.
Engine runs strong.
Transmission has let than 1000 miles on hit and shift awesome, nice and firm.
Car was painted about 6 years ago by the famed Steve Ficarros Autobody in Trenton N.J. (Car Builder & sponsors races at Old Bridge Twp Raceway Park)
The metal boot for the top was totally stripped, taken down to bare metal and perfectly straightened.
If you look at a lot on these ASC/Mclaren boots they used a lot of filler to straighten them out. Not this one.
Car was never wet sanded, has a couple of layers of color on top there are 3 layers of clear. Convertible top is in excellent condition.
Radio was upgraded to a Kenwood, has darker wood dash trim.
I have original radio and dash pieces.
Car will come with original style ASC rims my neighbor had on, they do need refinished,
The current wheels that I put on are 1995 Style 16” Cobra R’s 235’s in the Front and 255’s in the Rear. They fit PERFECT! Tires are basically new.
Car comes with most of the service history and literature as show in picture.
Car interior is free of any rips or tears, Recharo Leather seats are in excellent condition with some minor cracking on the one bolster.
Really nice for a car that would be 3 years old let alone 23 years!
Oil has been changed ever 3-6 months in the past couple of years just to keep it fresh. (since I have put less than 3,000 miles on it in 4 years.
Car has been garage (heated) kept and covered.
Minor Issues –
- There is a dent and chip in the hood from something in the garage falling on it. (see photos with finger pointing)
- The car does need a new heater core (around $350-500 to have a professional do it or if you do it, it is about a $60 part), the heater core is presently being bypassed so it can be driven with no problem.
- There is a little oil that does leak probably from either the pan or rear main, it is minor and I have had it check out and was told it is not an issue.
- The dash pad has a form fit plastic cover (really nice most people think it is the original dashpad), the original dash pad is still on however need dyed or replaced.
- Air condition does not blow cold, to be honest I never used it or needed it. Could just need charging.
