The first day..... of.......

Post by Sandy »

the rest of my life!

Fabulous. simply fabulous. Thank you all for all your good wishes and good vibes. As you know, I had a 90 minute sit-down with my Cancer Dr. today... He had all the tests results, and yesterday's Cat Scan with image and I was injected with Dye. My numbers are normal, and have been for a while, at 3.4 to 3.5 --ANYTHING under 5 is NORMAL, and I have beat the 5 !
Results from yesterday's Cat Scan show that the 14 (Yes, I had 14 !! ) tumors of Cancer IN and ON my Liver, well... 11 of them are dead, gone, killed, finished!! I have 3 little ones left, so I have to continue on my 2 X a month Chemo infusions, for the time being, at least until my next Cat Scan, scheduled in early early April, '09 - So.... 1 more in December (the 24th) and 2 in Jan., Feb., Mar., and then I may go onto 1 a month !!!
Yippieee! Currently, I stand at 97% cured !!
This from near death, folks ! It can be done, but it's THE hardest thing you'll ever do !!!
I feel relieved & happy. :D Outta the woods of death.

On January 7th I will be back in the hospital for like 6 hours for a 1-year later colonoscopy. I HATE THESE ! I hate being "put-out" ~ I will be OFF BOARD on THAT day for positive! IF I had done this when I turned firfty, I never would have had to go thru all I've been thru. Other than that day, I will continue having my 2 hour & 10 minute infusions of chemo in the hospital, as an out patient two times a month, (or every other week) ~ thus thru the end of March at which time I'll be given another CT Cat Scan to see how those 3 tiny little remaining cancer tumors are doing. If all 3 are gone, then I will probably have 1 infusion a month, for a while and FINALLY none, or one every 4 months ..... ya, it takes a long time. A very long time for some.

Receipe for not getting Colon Cancer is simple. Do not gorge food, eat only enough to not be hungry, easy on junk food, easy on booze, and after age 47 have a colonoscopy in the hospital yearly. Make sure your insurance covers it. Otherwise it's $3,000 ~ Know this....many Drs. can be "talked down" on their fee, like they used to do with me, when I had the misfortune of selling cars. Hospitals CANNOT be "talked down" on fees. If you are paying, pay for the colonoscopy in advance, on a credit card, will be your best chance for a "discount" to occur.
Speak directly with your Dr and offer to pay on a CC in advance, if he can give you some "CONSIDERATION"

Sandy, thats For You!! I have my copy. I thought if you could not make it to a Dream Cruise then pictures would be nice. The only thing I didnt like about the pictures was no pictures of the Crowds or 8 lanes of cars plus sidewalk and parking lots full.

Enjoy :)

i'VE SEEN PICS OF THE 8 LANES and the sidewalks, too. These were better - I like close ups. I like thatwhite McLaren and most ALL of the other cars. If you have a duplicate disc, look for the Butterscotch 1971 Dodge Challenger with the 3/4 length black stripe.

It's a one of one. I had heard about that car years ago.

In 1971 the Challenger took a huge drop in sales. Ver Very few R/T models were sold, mostly6 Cyl Coupe to females. I believe that under 500 71 R/T 'Verts were sold.
Only new Color was that Butterscotch, and most dealers stayed away from it for inventory cars. Too limited a market color, sticking to black, white, red, green and yellow. I had never seen one.
PLUS, that one is an R/T and loaded.
I really like to own her ~~

Thanks, appreciate that. Always feel better looking at cars! Other can have their Playboy - I 'll take Motor Trend
