DieCast ASC's: Anyone interested?

Post by hanksgt »

I spoke (again) with a rep from GMP (www.gmpdiecast.com) at Barrett-Jackson today. I asked again about doing an '87 to 90 and he winked and said "send feedback" and quietly suggested asking for an '87.

So go to this link (http://www.gmpdiecast.com//about/contact.cfm) and voice your opinion for a 1987 ASC McLaren. I did already.

There will be no Capri based gmp die-cast.

One of the gmp guys who used to be at FEP says there isn't a snowball's chance in hell. There simply are not enough Capri owners out there.

The 87+ asc Mustangs have a shot as they would appeal to a much larger group. Plus the tooling won't be as extensive and will oeverlap any normal 87+ Mustangs they make.

GMP used to make Mustang SSP's and an LX but quit due to low sales. The last couple are probably still available new at some retailers. An ASC could reuse some of that tooling but I honestly don't think there is much chance of seeing one.
