also according the the vin number it should be a 4v and its the efi and nothing seems to have been touched on the whole car. could this have been an actual factory green car since there is no other colors on top of the black besides the green? and been miss recorded? sorry for the amount of questions Im just trying to learn as much as possible about this car. does any of the side trim interchange with a mustang or capri or is it mclaren only?
All three.88stanglx wrote:does modifications hurt the value or a mclaren or miles or just the overall condition?
Post some pics of the 84 and what you plan to do with it and we can probably tell you if it will hurt the value.
If the car is 100% original and has been garaged kept and well taken care of.... mods will hurt its value.
If it needs new interior, new paint, new roof, is faded from sitting outside...mods will probably not do too much to hurt the value as long as they are not radical.
Remember, you can sell an unmodded car to anyone...its tougher to sell a modded one since no one else has the same taste in mods as you will.

Why do you say that? The verts were often automatics which were EFI cars. Their VINs would have an M for the engine code just like the carbed cars with the manual transmissions.tfs2121 wrote:if your 84 has EFI its not factory.88stanglx wrote:also according the the vin number it should be a 4v and its the efi
The confusion is that the decoding books and even the car vendors like Autozone think that the EFI cars had "F" for the engine code. There was NEVER an F Code for 1984 (or 1985 either). So when you go ask for parts for an EFI (CFI) car, you MUST tell the Autozone guys its an "F" code car so you don't get the wrong parts for a carbed car.
