I have found out the story of your green ascMcLaren ! (Made a call to God!) Your car is # 43 of 50 made. Your VIN ends in 620353 !
the Color is Dark Jade Green Metallic.
The Top is "Tan" & the interior is "Sand Beige".
The car was UINsold & IN STOCK at ascMclaren. A person came along & told a man there that he'd buy the car IF they'd repaint it in that Dark Green Color. The car was originally "Atlantic Blue" Metallic (Dark) with the Tan Top & Sand Beige Interior. I was told to look deep into the driver's side door hinge to see a bit of the blue. They wet sanded and repainted it AT ASC McLaren, and sold the car. In 1995 the car had 48,500 miles onit. At that time it belonged to a Mr. Ray Noble of St. Louis, Mo.

P.S. -- I 4-got to tell you that it was THE FIRST unit painted in Atlantic Blue (it was a late 1984 at #43 (of 50) and they wanted to see HOW the car looked in Atlantic Blue, before OKing it for production for the 1985s. It was THE only '84 painted Atlantic Blue Metallic, and the only 1984 1985 1986 painted in that Dark Jade-Green Metallic, for that initial owner, whom I do not know whom he / she was...

no im in missouri and bought it in columbia. the last owner passed.

the orange tag i was talking about says to: Heaen Denzel
address: Mclaren
sold by: Tom Nkk
date:3-13-93

wen they wet sanded it before painting it green would they have sanded it back down to the black color? everywhere the paint is peeling is black underneath and the peeling green under the front and rear bumpers and the fender wells is black. I see alot of blue hints all over it and under the toneau cover you can see the residue from wet sanding because the over spray covered it and wont wipe off anymore. the last numbers of the vin do match. the yellow Mclaren warning sticker says it was modified in October 84. they kind of did a sloppy job of painting it green there is some green on the tonneau cover and above the window on the interior trim and a few runs. also it has carpet floor mats that say Leaders Lincoln Mercury.

ALL ascMcLaren Convertibles were painted BLACK exterior at & by FORD on the initial assembly line....UNLESS the interior was BLUE ! IF the interior was BLUE, it got paintedf an exterior of WHITE !! That is why you are finding BLACK underneath. AFTER the black at Ford, ascMcLaren repaintedf ALL of them (100%) in the ordered color. Yours was done in Atlantic Blue. then, it was again re-done to abuyer's wishes, in a Dark Jade Green. She has 3 coats of paint on her (at the very least)!
Did Ray Noble Pass Away ???????

This explains the differences that I noticed in the seats. I mentioned it in the other posting that the seats did not appear to be original 84 seats. I'm now guessing they could be from when ASC "redid" the car. ???????????
