It looks like its in pretty good shape. I hope someone saves it.
However, the way it was hit could be scary depending how bad the frame is. 40 mph could've knocked alot of stuff out of line.
Price didn't seem too far out of line if the interior is in great condition, it looks like a complete original car.....

1988 ASC McLaren #688
I e-mailed the seller a while back, asking for photos. Not long thereafter, he revised the ad to include the photos. Now I am trying to find out whether he would take a fair amount less for it and whether he would tow it to my place of storage.
No word on the shape of the interior.

Maybe. Maybe not.negusm wrote:It looks like easily a $1500 car.
My goal would not be to restore such a car, though, even if it proves to be possible. As you have noted, the restoration cost would be great, and in all likelihood prohibitive in consideration of the limited post-restoration value of the car. Instead, I would simply save it from going to someone who might have bad things in mind for it.
It would be perpetually for sale, and if someone else came along who truly wanted to try to fix it up, I would sell it in a second. If not, then I would hold on to it, and in the event that something terrible befell my ascMcLaren at some point in the future, I would have a parts car at the ready.

Come on guys! This car is EASILY repairable for a driver if it is rustfree. No show car in mind but would be a nice driver.
