Thanx Mike ..if they are good quality I will contact him -- may even be worthwhile me flying down there next trip to the USA .... and bring my shopping list - use the digital camera - send the photos to my mechanic to inspect and then -- make a call on whether to buy and carry/ship them.

I probably am looking at about $5K to bring it back to real good shape .. still better than selling it and buying what ??? to replace it ...

BTW, I have it insured for over US$25K thru a specialty insurer her in Oz....just had to add a 3 point immobilizer.

Great to have found this site ..and looking forward to hearing more from other owners...

I am interested to know (sometime) what the production number of my car is -- can you tell from the VIN number above ? and anything you have on record about it...

Ciao,

Well, assuming they are the replacements made by asc, they will be as good as what the car originally came with.

How's that ????? .......Absolutely AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!! many thanx

My SIKKER paint sticker is 7/89 (makes sense from the dates above) but is
FA87 OT (not FA86 as you have listed.... was this a typo or different color ?) It does say Azura Blue.....

Many thanx again...

Visor clip

Post by hopkins1104 »

Hi

Have been off this board for a few years just too much happening

Still have my 89 ascMcLaren here in Sydney Australia amazing that it is 20 years old now with about 50,000 miles

Unfortunately it is not getting driven much as i STILL have not done the "fixes" needed to bring her back to a good reliable car shape .. (and not worry about rain primarily)

One BIG frustration is to source a simple screw-on clip for the VISORS .. the left side one has snapped and the sunvisor whirls around all over the place -- annoying... ANY tips or sources (tried to look on Hank's website but didn;t see that part listed) woudl be much appreciated

Still need to replace the top, all seals around the top and windows, and maybe even the roof structure -- a few of them look suspect, and the pull-down motor as well

Time MAY be approaching to just DO it !!

I still love the car and don;t see anything to replace it at the moment

Hoep you are all well
Cheers
Mike
