I got a big laugh outta the "BigFoot comment over on 4-eyed pride site.
BTW, guys, Power Windows were standard on 1985/86 Capris - but not Pwr. Door locks, which were optional and included a power hatch release.

Hi Ken
When you get him on phone try to warm up to him some take your time then get into questions don't be afraid to make him a decent offer if you get answers you are looking for he may want to move it since it seems selling it and dealing with folks bother him. Or......................
As long as i have been in car business i always am suspect so consider this he may be waiting for non-knowledgeable buyer "kid with cash" to pass off a beat down rag sled and may be weeding thru the folks who ask the to the point ?'s and for more photos. And acting like he knows little about it. So keep that in mind! It was nice talking to you today we were pretty busy sold 1 and got another guy done on financing had a bunch going on. Talk Later Mosley

Yep Fredzilla at FEP has offered to go check it out for me. Since he also owns an 86 Capri with a tan interior he should know immediately what is correct and what isn't. I'm hoping he'll be allowed to drive it as well as give it a real close inspection with pics. I've offered him some $$$ to cover his fuel and time expense.
Something I haven't found an answer to yet in my searches here and at FEP:
In what month did the 86 Capri production end? It would be good to know.

Sounds great getting a fellow Capri guy to ck it out i think he is a member here also? I bet Sandy knows production end date he has an 86 ASC Coupe with under 1k on the clock he prob even knows the coolant flow pressure if you are curious on that also

I was the guy who found this car and went to check it out for Ken. Here was my finding.
Rust:
Frame rails, core support, hood, hatch, under doors, (Some rust on driver lip door and surface rust on both doors on top charcoal window trim and quarter windows) Quarters, fenders, rockers floor pans. Surprisingly, were all in very good cond. The body did have some damage to the bottom passenger quarter and rocker panel was pushed in. The plastic molding reflector also had a piece of it missing. The front fender was replaced, air damn was cracked and extension piece was damaged. Fog light bar might have been tweaked a little too. Also missing passenger side plastic fender apron. Body of car was good besides those things. The paint almost looks like it could buff nicely. Some fading to it and smaller chips, scratches and the ugly pin strip is painted.
Interior:
original tan, driver/passenger and back seats. All descent cond with no rips. They did have some fade. Dash shell and pad good. Aftermarket radio installed into dash and dash pad was faded bad but, had no cracks. Back speakers were there but removed, front doors panel had speakers cut into them. Headliner and carpet also good cond
Car had ac (not working) but blower motor was working. Power windows, no cruise. Hatch panels had some scratches and some what faded ,no brittle panels.
Engine:
Started right up and idled fine and sounded good. Heater core was bypassed, fan blade had some damage to fins. Except for the after market headers, some hoses/belt. From what I could see the motor was pretty original. Car still had the catalytic converts too. Had a short throw shifter and Nitrous was installed. The bottle in hatch but not hooked up or even bolted down. No, signs of coolant in oil. Some minor oil leaking on maybe valve cover gasket ?
I couldn't drive it. Because it was not registered and this seem to bother the guy. I did shift it into first and reverse a few times and the clutch felt good. But couldn't' tell you how it drives.
Over all, I thought this car has potential. a real deal 4E and a solid 7 out of 10.
Any more news on the transportation down south.
