wanted: 1985 mclaren conv. d/s door glass

Need a driver's side door glass for a 1985 mclaren conv. Does it interchange with anything? Any help would be appreciated! Can e-mail at bailey321a@juno.com.

No these were custom made at ASC.

Will 84-90 asc glass interchange?

The only sure place to get one is Hank in Florida (www.ascmclaren.com).

Beyond that, occasionally a wreck is found in a jy and parted. Check ebay, there were pieces of a white one on there a while back.

What is the difference between mustang glass and mclaren glass? Can the glass be adjusted up or down from the bolt that holds it to the rod inside of the door.

I think the door glass was made by Ford, and packaged into the trunk, FOR ascMcLaren. But, in this case, I MIGHT be wrong! Why do i say that?
Because I have seen the Ford *auto lite" insignia in some McLaren 'Verts door glass. But, I do not have a part # AND it's not listed on my Ford supplied listing, so, 'ya, it's sorta kinda a mystery, or "Grey Area" ~
I too would like to know.

McLaren glass is cut at a totally different angle because they bent the a-pillar back 10 degrees.

You can't cut Mustang glass to fit as the glass is tempered and will explode on you. You can de-temper glass, cut and retemper it but it would probably be cheaper to just get it from Hank.

Just to let you know guys that I did cut a tempered glass myself in the past with success. All you need is a LOT of patience. Used a zip cut wheel and slowly go into it and cool it with water. After I ground it smouth rounded with a grinder again with time and patience. Finally smooth it with orbital sender and fine grit. One too hard impact while in the process and it falls in million pieces. The secret is work very carefully and never get a HOT spot while cutting. Good luck if you try!!
