Now, if I just knew how many of the '86 Verts/Red/Tan/Beige had the decor package!! I've only seen 1 other one that did, to my knowledge.

Rear under bumper "defusser" with exhaust tips cut-out, side ground effect skirting and under front bumper lower air dam with built in fog lamps. I have seen MORE with this pkg. than without, especially the 1986 units in Paris Blue and Atlantic Blue.

Just looked at pics of YOUR car.... YOU HAVE IT

In that case, I have an '86 vert red/tan/beige with the decor package, so there are at least two of them.

Yours has a wing on the back that I don't have and you don't have the front and rear headlight and taillight covers that mine does, so we're not quite twin car owners.

Sandy, Is the wing an aftermarket or did they put them on at ASC?

The wing on the above example is definately AFTERMARKET ! The way your car is - - IS the way they came from ascMcLaren and Ford.

You have the optional (from ASC) Decor Pkg., and the Optional Heated Recaros. IF IF IF you car has Power Door Locks, Air Conditioning, and the headlight & tailight covers (they were part of the decor package and should be on your car) and if yours is an automatic tranny car, then yours is the most expensive Capri-based ascMcLaren that a person could have. I looked it over as good as possible & it really looks good.

Ken, I saw the T-Bird and the 'Vette. But what do you drive as a DD ?
Daily Driver ? Nice cars.

We have 2 daily drivers. My wife's 2004 Ford Escape with the No Boundaries Package and my 2007 Ford F150. Both purchased new. I'm a life member of the DAV and can buy a Ford product at a huge discount. No pressure, no add ons. No delivery fee or extra 'Dealer Cost.' They are not even allowed to put pressure on me for an extended warranty.

And my McLaren has all that plus the radar detector & 2 burglar alarms.

Just passed 22,000 miles last week. It's sure worth the 9400.00+ I paid for it, in my opinion. Runs like a scalded dog but when I really punch it and it shifts into 2nd it gets a little squirrely. Went down a road sideways once.

I suspect it has the B303 cam. It 'loads up' and gets a rough idle at red lights, but when you give it a little gas it smoothes right out.

Oh crap, I think this is the weekend we were supposed to take it to Silver Springs for the all Ford car show. The weather is lousy tho' so I really don't care. It's only 39 out and raining right now!

Super nice car! Yes, she sounds like she has the B-303 Cam. After a short time ideling they get "nervous" and the RPMs go up and then down and then up and then down and ShAkE a little bit. When you step on them, even lightly they go like a scared rabbit.

If I didn't have a 700 mile Coupe (1986) # 109 of 115 and 2 1990 Mustang McLarens ... My Azura Blue one has the highest VIN of all 65 units (2,377 miles) and my Silver Anniversary (1 of 2 actually made) with
8,400 miles, I'd make you an offer you could not turn down. But I would also then need a lawyer to represent me in my wife's divorce case
We have a total of 7 cars which includes our Son's car - since he lives at home with us.
(...and to think when I met my wife, she drove a 5 year old A.M.C. Pacer !!! (We "fixed" that real quick!!_

The wing is an aftermarket item that a previous owner installed. If I ever get this thing running right, I will get it painted, during which process the wing will be removed.

Sandy,

I turned down $22,000.00 offer from a retired school pschologist. I wouldn't sell him anything nice. He drinks every day starting in the AM and his personal car has 'whiskey bumps' all over it. Always in the body shop. His wife won't let him drive her car. There is a couple in Pa. that contacted me about it but I told them it wasn't for sale.

I got the car on an Ebay auction. I didn't even bid. I saw the car late at night on the night the bidding ended. I told the wife about it the next AM and she said, "If you wanted it, you should have bid for it." So I emailed the seller (The same estate sales that I bought my Vette from) and told Bob if the buyer couldn't come up with the $$$ to call me and I'd match the offer, he didn't have to relist it. 2 weeks later he called and said, "Come get you car." I did. $9427.00 + tax and a new tag. While I was there a couple called and offerd him more for it than I paid but he told them he had already sold it. So - Jim & Cindy, if you're lurking, I still have your phone # and email address! And the car's still perfect.

Might take it for a cold morning run tomorrow. We usually go to the Moose for breakfast. Going to be below freezing tho'.

I would like to buy it, as well, BUT, I cannot aford the divorce that would probably follow. Plus that's yet another $150.00 @ month, for storage.
I had never before realized what a prize that car is, I mean with every option, low mileage and terrific condition.

Few folks on rthe outside of this group would truly appreciate it ~ as we with ultra low mileage examples are realizing. I am sick of hearing "It's JUST a car !" 'Ya, like a Toyota Yaris is.
