I think you just use the standard Ford ones. Either the metal or plastic.

That was what the Capri RS/5.0L used for 85/86 with the air dam, right?

Other than that, I don't really know.

Sandy might be able to tell you. I know he switched out his license place brackets but he probably still has the originals.

Oh, God. Getting me in trouble ! I am not gonna say that I did nor I didn't switch any license palte brackets, because I have NO memory of so doing. Do you know why I did that - if I did it ?? What was my reason? I do have plates on all 3 McLarens in front & back. I do not recall having any spare brackets inside the cars....
I had the damn CHEMO on Monday, and I am still going round & round & round like a top, but I can't recall messing around with the plate brackets.
Wait a couple daze (DAYS) and I'll go looking. If you recall what I did - inform me, Mike.

They are Black Magic frames you painted orange?

i think the orange frame is just a frame around the plate that is bolted to the bracket.

I was looking at FEP for a bracket but I read on there that some people
think a airdam car (factory)and regular Capris had different plate holders
I don't like the look of the plate screwed into the bumper

Sure is nice to live in a state (Michigan) that doesn't require a front plate. I like the clean look and no holes in the fascia/bumper.

OKAY, yes, Mike is correct ! (The brain is coming outta the london fog).
The bracket was not put on by me, but by my selling dealer. I never
touched it. The Plate frame is from a Capri Black Magic, that was originally GOLD, to match the Black Magic's striping.
I primed it and re-sprayed it an identical color orange, to mach the decals. The frame is flexable plastic and will hook over the bracket, which is how I mounted it. But it's on very very tight. I cannot take it off without a good chance of cracking / breaking it.

I agree, but living in California, I just chance it. rather pay the fine then drill holes in my pride and joy. not that I drive her much

After getting nailed several times while parked, I bought the correct bracket. I was then reluctant to drill holes into the bumper cover. I made some custom brackets that attached from the rear of the bumper. Never used the NOS bracket. BTW the 85-86 Capri used the same one as the non-GT Mustang through 93 I believe.

Kevin, I tend to get overlooked on the front plate anyways. Only when I park in Los Angeles do I get nailed. Revenue cities make a lot of money on that. None of my cars have front plates though as it looks like sh-t...IMHO

I heard the front plate allows the cops to aim the rader gun easier.
