Thought this was interesting. Looks like it could be Hanks.

That's a project alright. With the exception of the qtr window covers and sail panel inserts, there's not an asc specific part on it - no wing, no ground effects, no wheels, no steering wheel center pad - nothing. Plus, it's got a fair amount of rust - the hatch and roof are toast (so there's a good chance the qtrs and floors, and shock towers are too). Ugh.
$1,200?? It's essentially a rolling chassis since it's not running. I see solid Capri RS rollers for less than that all the time. I don't think an asc ID'd VIN adds that much value, at least not currently.

Yep, there's something shaped like a steering wheel in there; although it looks like anything resembling a leather wrap is far from being complete and/or usable.negusm wrote:Seats, steering wheel and quarter window treatments are still there.

If that's the case, it better be being sold by an owner other than Henry. If he is pulling all the asc bits off cars to sell as his inventory, then selling the bare cars as asc projects - needing to have all the asc bits purchased seperately (which he can then supply) - that's just wrong. Smart, but wrong.85McLaren wrote:Hank had a car JUST like this when I bought one of mine from him over a year ago. Might be the same car. I think it was being used as a parts car....

Well - certain parts - he probably has no choice. Henry only produces some mclaren parts - not mercury capri parts. Fenders, bumper covers, etc., he has to find at junk yards or from parts cars....
And if a mclaren is 'ate' up bad enough - you might as well sell the parts cause you ain't gonna get crap for an 'ate' up capri or mclaren.

We should take a ride over and see Henry. Haven't been there in quite a while. He's only 22 miles from us. But, at this minute, (Thank God),I don't really need anything from him.
We do have 1 small blemish in our paint I'd like fixed and Henry says there's someone near him that has the paint and does excellent work.
I had the nose of my Vette repainted this year and the person did an awesome job. Can't even tell it's a repaint.
