Got Froggy (pun intended - green car)
Whether it was smart move or not, I couldn't stand it any longer.
I borrowed a few bucks and went to Mo. to get the Mean Green Machine, and mean it is.
Plenty of power, and I can barely tell that it shifts.
The seats are heated and all of the segments appear to adjust seperately.
The wood grain is in great shape except there is a nick TDC above the guages. Is the plaque brass? It is "43 of 50"
Top isn't as bad as my blue one but the plastic is shot of course. I found the clear vinyl at a fabric store for 3.99 a square yard. I naturally got twice as much as I needed. I got the thinner grade.
Now, Id really like to verify all the details on the car, and I know about the post regarding it.
But, some of it seems Too Good To Be True - One of the first cars built, but the very last sold in new condition (if you can call it that, was it the factory demo model?)
There are quite a few paint blemishes, no dings seen yet.
Wheels were redone very nicely with the weights placed on the back, but center logos are missing.
I'll get pics up soon.

1 off Green ASC Convertible
Congratulations.
I have had his ad saved on my desktop for a couple of months now.
I nearly bought it myself back in December, but things kind of fell apart for me & I had to cancel the trip.
I hope you enjoy owning/driving it!

I'll be taking it to the airport tonight to photograph it indoors, and then get the pic on my pic link and in the album too if I can manage.
I am very happy with the purchase and more info will come soon!

My link now has the pics posted.
Alot of them were sent to me prior to purchase.
Can you guys please write comments under the pics on what's right, what's wrong, what you didn't know, and what you do know.....
Looks like the only thing not original in the engine bay is the battery. My first task will be to detail under the hood and refinish the air cleaner housing, scrub and buff the lid to it and order a new decal from LMR or whoever is less expensive.
Wires say Motorcraft 1984, and mechanic at work says it looks like all the vacuum line are run properly and in place. No leaks anywhere.
Did he get the color right on the wheel refinish? They look great in person and smooth to the touch.
Sun visors; missing.
Red reflector need to be placed in passenger door. It's in the glove box.
Ash tray; missing.
Stereo does not work. Holes for speakers in rear seat delete area were never cut. Only have speakers in the door and the dash. I intend to leave the delete area as is. Bins need a good cleaning as does the carpet.
Small dent in hood.
Broken drivers mirror housing. Nice repair, but aesthetically challenged.
Tonneau sits too high on left side, paint chipped from trunk striking it.
Paint chipped on drivers door edge.
numerous nicks in the paint all around. Car is well waxed.
Speaker grills missing. Previous owner fabricated a pair. Task incomplete.
Heat cranks out the btu's but the a/c needs a charge.
Heated seats work great and are motorized.
Top looks like hell but does it's job just fine. Temporary fix on the plastic windows.
Trunk interior is clean and carpeted in black. Haven't looked underneath it yet.
"Altered by" sticker says October 1984 and VIN sticker above it say 'Incomplete Vehicle" with some coded informaton.
Tires are thin. Look like 205's or 215's. Haven't looked yet.
That's not a rust spot on the hood, it's a leaf.
Out of wind now....

If you look at the interior pic from the ad (I have it in my pic link), you will see Recaro Classic heated articulated seats. They are very comfortable and can be left on without burning out.
But am I to assume that they are aftermarket and not installed at ASC, or original equipment?
Thats a puzzle, because I'd like them to have been put in at Livonia.

T Y for that installed by ASC.
Sandy has urged me to keep this car all original and I don't need any coaxing.
Still, to date, nothing un-original has been found besides the battery and the stereo. Apparently that was a factory deleted item, and there is a non-functional JVC cassette player there which will get swapped out for some of the latest technology.
If anyone can lend some advice about a power drop-off under certain conditions, that would be helpful.
If tank is full, I have all the power I want.
Below 3/4 tank, while on an incline, power seems to be intermittent, as the rpm climbs conditions worsen. improve a little on flat land and goes down hill a little better.
My first hought is the fuel pump. (not another one...).
Then I read here that the CFI cars have a return pump also, and the mechanic at work is confusing me talking about vacuum lines and such.
I can tell that this is something that I will have to educate myself about. I don't even know that I'm on the right track.
Ignition problems enter into my mind as well.
Anyone have any ideas or experience with these symptoms. I really want to analyze all the possibilities and perform whatever tests I can to determine the problem before I spend any money unnecessarily.
Everyone here has always been so helpful in the past, and I THANK YOU for that.

rear speakers
The early convertibles did not have rear speakers.
If I remember correctly some of the 86s had them, but earlier ones did not.
