Nice Car, but WHY a RED stripe ??? should have been BLACK to match the TOP !! 3 colors on most cars is a no-no.

Tell me, what is the small round knob on the console right next to the emergency brake handle ??!!

I'm not to big on the stripes. Never cared for them - quite a few GTs received those. yuck.

Sandy, that small knob is the cigarette lighter. My console is identical to that.

Is that top vinyl? I thought all ASC tops were Cambria cloth? (except for the white tops) never seen that before.

I have, on my '85 when I bought it. It was not the original top, but rather a cheap replacement. It was black too; should have been tan.

Like above, it is a cheap replacement top. ALL ascMcLaren (1984-1990) wore CLOTH roofs, EXCEPT for the 1990s that were ordered with the "new-for-1990") color of WHITE convertible roof.

Regarding the stripe that is set into the 360-degree recess in the bumper-body-bumper, that was actually offered and installed at ascMcLaren...BUT, only as an option FOR 1990 !! Prior year cars WITH that stripe.....the stripe was either applied by the original selling dealer, or one of the prior owners.) The 1990 Stripe applied by & at ascMcLaren listed for $49.00. It came in:
* White
* Black
* Navy Blue
* Gold Metallic
* Bright Red
* Silver Metallic

Me too((Wish I had known about these cars years ago! ))

I wouda ordered a 1990 with all options, in Coral Red (acutally a red-pink) with the new-for 1990, white leather interior AND the Dk. Claret cloth top.

The Coral Red comes from the Nissan CUBE - but ONLY available in the Japanese market - not in the USA, It's a raspberry red under a deep burgundy cloth top, with white interior.

I would omit the tape stripe, as they did not ofer a dark burgundy to match the top.

'ya know, I gotta be different.

BUT..... I got a call from a dealer (Ford) in Pa. telling me he had THE last asc McLaren, & that he could prove it, and it was Azura Blue, Dk. Blue top and NEW. He added that it had EVERY option & was an automatic.
I got a picture and fell in love.
A week later it arrived on a flat bed to my door.

Few months later....I found out sbout the 25th Anniversary Edition(s)... WHAT??? TWO?? TWO MADE ????

Where are they ? One is NOT 4-Sale & the lower mileage car is for sale!

Where is it? Take me to it! Where is it?? Where ???? Mass !!?? It's in Mass?? That's a hop, skip & a juimp from Jersey.......Give me his #

Called. Bought. He delivered. Done.

I had money, then. Now ? No, money is tight. Happy days are behind, now.

Now it's chemo, infusions, hospital, tests, cat scans, full body pictures, blood work, hurry up....and...... WAIT.
Can you come back, tomorrow??
