Congrats on getting her back.
That rear quarter looks great now!
I am going to have to agree with Sandy on the top. I think the white looks better than a black would also. Just my .02

How different are the '88 ASC doors compared to '90 Vert doors???
I noticed that my ASC doors both have the "spring steel" tabs that open the doors halfway have broken off?
I have 2 '90 vert doors in very good condition that I could replace them with. I know I'd need to move the glass and possibly track/motor over from the old doors.
As an option I could also cut off the tabs from the '90 doors and weld them to the ASC doors. What do you guys think????
I did a little research...I found I can but replacement spring tabs and bolt/weld them on...I think I'll also rehab the hinge pins, bushing and door strikers also.

I'm having a bad experience with my new OEM wing...In short, I noticed that it would not sit flush with the trunk lid. I drove the car around once and noticed that it lifted even more. I started investigating and found that most of the studs were damaged with one completely broken off.
I let Hank know the situation, and he agreed to exchange it, but considering that I have fresh paint on it and did not want to pay again to spray a new piece,I've decided to fix it myself this time.
The plan...use high strength 2 part epoxy and mold adhesive tape to install it this time. My bodyman did mention that it was hard to fit and I should have investigated further also.
I've also noticed that none of the windshield trim (interior/exterior) that I've purchased fits well. ALL holes are WAY off ...by inches, or non-existent. this leads to cracking if forced. the shop left some off because they did not want to damage them. That's probably due to the cars being individually assembled.

When I recieved my car it had 2 sheet metal screws holding it on. I checked with a body supply place and the owner refered me to product called Q Bond. I BOUGHT 4 NEW Stainlees 1/4 20 1inch bolts and held them in place as I used the product. It has a Powder you put down then apply a super glue type of material the powder heats up. I should have grounded the bolt a little but I will see how it work driving around Houston Streets. I had a tiny bit of alignment problem but it is in place now.

1. Trunk wing. I haven't had any trouble or issues with mine since day 1 in 1988. However, at the big Ford show in Dearborn a few weeks ago, while doing the final detailing at the show, I noticed that the passenger side of the wing was loose. The wing is held on by 4 screws that are rubber plug covered coming up thru the trunk. I'm going to have to take it off and epoxy the plastic piece back on so its secure. one thing after another.....foraye wrote:I'm having a bad experience with my new OEM wing...In short, I noticed that it would not sit flush with the trunk lid. UPDATE
Well I gave it is back on...I teamed up with the shop this time. its amazing how the wing does not follow the deck lid profile...even the original one!
We had to heat it up and persuade it to contour a little!.
Anyway I got my new seats in! Something told me that 20+ year old mustang leather might not hold up in the long run, so I got a set of Corbeau Leather/Suede seats...they fit well, looks great and are comfortable. I had to wait six weeks for these..with the white over-stitching. It give the seats an upscale look!. I also took the opportunity to change the carpet to black!
Next up? A full 5 lug conversion with Cobra brakes and BBS RK wheels in plasma finish!
