2 Wheels

Post by avmtdan »

http://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/2523078611.html

Found on CL, hope someone gets them soon.

4-lug aluminum wheels. I believe they are from a Mustang with a 5.0 liter. The center caps say 5.0 SC. They also have the following castings:

McLaren
asc
7Jx15H2E12
TYP 34F

I only have two wheels. I was planning to use them on a trailer but never have so far. If I don't sell them, I will scrap them for the aluminum.

Reply to post, or for quicker reply call or text to (nine three seven) 241-157 eight.

Someone needs to save these wheels before the super clown who is selling them ditches them for quick cash.

Those are the earlier type wheels (center cap loads form the outside).

His $50 per wheel is reasonable.

I don't think he can get that for scrap.

Somebody must have tipped him off to Hank's website. Old ad is deleted, and has been reposted at $400.00 for both wheels.

I was working on a shipping deal with him throughout the day yesterday from his original ad. After a couple hour gap in communication while I was driving home from work and getting dinner, he tells me he did some research and found out he 'had them way underpriced' and because they are worth $295 each ($250 wheel and $45 centercap) 'needless to say he will be modifying his post'.

Then he asks what they were actually worth to me; and did I have a car or was I planning on reselling them!

I told him good luck and that I had no interest in them at those prices.

Here's his new listing...

IMHO, if they are in nice condition, the color you need, they are worth $125 each with caps. No more than that.

Whole sets often sell for $350.

Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure how far along you were with a final deal with him before he backed out. (you said you were arranging shipping with him -so it seems like a deal was finalized) For him to back out like that because someone tipped him off to Hank's site and what wheels were going for is unethical and lacks scruples.

Few years ago I made a deal with someone for assorted ASC ads and magazine articles I had been looking for. The deal was finalized and accepted, we made arrangements to talk the next day about shipping and where I could send the check, next day came and he informed me that someone contacted him offering more money and completed that deal... :x Lots of weasels and unethical people running around out there.

So, hope you can find some other wheels.

Hank must have raised his prices. Last I knew a new one was $200.00 and the center caps in the $30.00 range.

I bought a full set for extras, with tires, because the price was so low. They're in my barn. Just in case.

I just read the CL add. The parts are in Marysville. LOL. That ad sounds about right "I was going to use them on my trailer..."

That whole county is that way. If I see Mustang or whatever for sale on the side of the road in that area, I don't even bother to waste my time looking at it. I just keep on driving, no matter how cool it may seem. Everything is always way overpriced (or complete junk, chevy engine, rigged, etc.).

Don't fret about losing out on the wheels. They were probably bent or stolen...

Hank has them for $250 with core exchange.

That's about what they've been for at least 10 years.

He used to sell them outright for that price. But that was a long ways back.
