When you "copy", it is saved in memory. You can then use the same browser window to go to asc.org. Then when you "paste", it will paste what you copied last.

This works for any and all text accross the entire computer system.

Hello, im new on here and am wondering if anybody can tell me why i dont see any badge on the dash? Shouldnt there be a numbered badge there? Also, is the price hes asking realistic? Thanks,im sort of interested in this car,but not sure if its legit or whatever. Any knowlegable input would be greatly appreciated.

The badge on the 85 was mounted on the right front of the rear quarter panel. It's also missing the pin strip on the body molding.

Thanks, sounds like someone else is gonna get stuck paying too much for an improper example. Too bad,my wife really likes it,and im half way saying it is what it is and it looks good so who cares,but the price of 5500 to 6K sounds way to high for an improperly done one?

I would not say the price is way off. The problem areas are easily fixed for little money. I have the same car with auto and it is not perfect. I did the top once and needs it again. Did the seats too. My paint has small chips peeling but I paid $3500 in 04. Blue book valve was higher then.

Dash pad looks like it was painted the wrong color as it does not match the lower dash. I see some nasty cracks in it too. $300 for a repro and $600 for NOS

Radio does not look original but ok.

What's up with the yellow wire hanging down by the passenger kick panel?

The seats may have been recovered but the head rests look tattered. They cheaped out by not doig them too?

Pin strip on body molding missing

Front lic bracket missing. Easy find $20 for NOS

The 5.0 emblem needs to go and the antenna is not original. Badge missing.

Speedo has beed modified or replaced so what is the mileage?

The history report is pretty spotty and does not really confirm the mileage. I would look for service records etc. If it really has low mileage then why was it repainted? Look for rust on east coast cars.

I own and original 84 mustang with 24K miles and the paint is still pristene.

It really comes down to how much you like it. Remember, it's not a Mustang and the only experts are on this web board and Henry. Even if it is perfect no one will know and most won't care.

Great reply! Thats really what it come down to,if you like it-yada yada! I think ill pass on it,too many little issues for its price seems to be the case. I never even thought about the speedo change/correct mileage thing either,thanks for that! I did think about why such supposedly low mileage car has been repainted the wrong color. And why does the snorkel look so crappy,it would only take about 1/2 hour and 5 bux to make it look good! Thats a dealer for ya.

Guys a low milage car can have been repainted for many reasons. Take my car as an exemple. Paint shine is still very presentable for a california car but is full of dings and scratches, very good looking at 20 feet or if you see it go by on the road. But would need paint to be real nice. I can't decide myself to go over the original paint yet as it still present very good and is only original once. Same for the seats. Age is hard on leather in hot dry area. If the car is used without real good care even if not abused they will crack with time if just left outside on a regular basis. My car was also missing the production emblem on the passenger side quarter. With the VIN Sandy can give you the production number and you can get a plate from Hank. That is what i did.
Take a look in the for sale area here on the site. There is a 84 for sale that is not bad I think.

BTW if you really want a car that grab attention go with a Capri. They look so different people ask all the time what is it. And they like it! I have good comments all the time.

Do you know someone who says they were treated badly, by this person ?


Know who I don't trust? Dentists !! They tell you have a cavity & you say, "Okay, lets do it & fix it. What's he do first ?
He gets the drill.... and he drills a hole, Right ?? Then he goes on and fills it !!!!! See? Happens every day, Maine to California.

You are right to a certain extent as far as im concerned. The reason i dont generally trust a dealer is that most of them will do whatever it takes to make a sale. Granted,it being on ebay is a bit diff than going on a lot,etc. BUT, i know first hand many people who have been burned by dealers. Anyway,you sound like you may be a dealer-LOL

OK, im new here and ive been thinking about this alot,as i really love this car and the way it looks. since i am speaking with real mclaren enthusiasts and experts,let me ask you this. Im also assuming most,if not all of you in on this thread has seen the pix and see the vin- is there any reason i should not go and buy this car if i really like it for 5500.00. Thats what i can get it for right now,according to the seller,ive been in touch with him on the phone and he says if i want it this fri or the weekend,he will lower the Buy it now as i watch,i click and go get it. SO,whats the general consensus??

For a used car, you cannot trust anyone. Dealer or friend of a friend, it's about the same. You are on your own, which is why you are here. Your signature shows a few classics and similar cars so you show know what you are getting into. Mechanically, check it out. Nothing sours a deal like a bad tranny or engine.

Many of us here are relative cheap when it comes to cars and we want a bargan. I'm sure 3-4 people here would jump at it for $3500. Therefore I don't think you will get a lot of support in that price range of $5500. Just being honest. It really comes down to what you value it to be. If it's really clean and needs nothing then it's worth it but don't plan on making money on it. It will cost you money down the road as it is a used car and things go bad. You can easily dump $2000 into a $3500 car and end up with less.

Just because there are a few bidders on Ebay and the price is going up does not mean it will sell or the buyer will not fall thru. I know of several cars which never met the reserve and some the buyers could not follow thru. Looks like it's down to 2 bidders and a couple hundred dollars.
