Rust issues? no problem. Solution

Post by shelbyscarab »

Just had to share this with a few people that would get a kick out of it.

a guy just pulled up in my office parking lot with a 1976ish Olds Omega coupe. Black, partial black vinyl landau roof, it looks to be all there, not missing any trim, looks to be correct wheels. So actually its impressive that the car is technically complete................ except for the fact that the car has some bad rust issues.

Now what I love about this country, is that people are so different and atack problems in different ways (we've all seen the extreme uses for duct tape). Not this guy. All the rust holes...... and I mean ALL the rust holes had yellow, oozed out and hardened, spray foam insulation closing all the rust areas. Classic.

Oh if you only knew the things I have seen come through my shop... Spray foam sanded and painted to match the car. The tail light was missing on one guys car so what did he do? Pop bottle up side down with the light bulb in side it.

I am seeing more and more of that up here in New England. Especially filling rotted rocker panels.
