New Exhaust - *pics & vids*

Post by n20capri »

Changed mufflers on the Capri - went from Flowmaster 2-chamber's to the new Dynomax VT's! Definitely quieter at idle and the drone is gone on the highway...

I have been telling everyone to use that set up. I did when the VT's first hit the market last year on my 89 Trooper stang. They were so new that Summit had to drop ship them from Dynomax. I love the way they sound. When you get on the Highway, it is like a plane getting up to cruising speed. NO DRONE is what I like. I am running mine through the Walker replacement H Pipe with Cats.

Sandy, there isn't much about Mike's car that hasn't been upgraded. His brakes are no exception. I'm sure he'll post more about them, but there are details on his website. Let's just say...they're "slightly" better than our stock '86ers.

Brakes
Baer Sport Kit Front Brakes
12.5" vented/cross drilled/zinc washed front rotors
2 piston PBR calipers
HD Lines
HD Brodix master cylinder

There ya go Sandy! I'll tell ya they saved me a few times...however, since driving the SVO (man it stops great), I'm dying to do a 5-lug conversion with 4-wheel disks...However, I don't know what wheels I'd put on her...or what 5-lug setup I'd go with...

Choices, choices choices! lol

Very, very nice !!!! I think I still have stock ones on mine. I'm gonna go crawl under the beast and check. Definitely on top of the list of things to consider replacing.

I have 85 coupe. I was told 86 Mustang aftermarket exhaust
with x pipe etc .will fit like factory. Provided that I change the transmission mount for 5 speed to the 1986 double hump style.

IS THIS TRUE?

Everything was $721.96...luckily several family members got together and hooked me up with combined x-mas and B-day gifts with the mufflers and x-pipe! :) - I ended up getting myself the tails, flowtubes and clamps.

Mufflers were $100 each (x2):

Muffler clamps were $7.99 each (x4):

Tailpipes were $135:

Flowtubes were $54.95:

X-pipe was $305:
