Mustang frame support rivets

Post by avmtdan »

Anyone know what kind of rivets they are or where to get them? My body guy is looking for them before he pulls off the supports to do some other work.

Rivets

Post by midman »

I am in the middle of replacing my passenger rocker panel and I've been looking at what are the correct rivets as well. As best I can figure they are 1/4" steel structural rivets. By the way the crappy aftermarket rockers have a lower flange that is 3/8" smaller than OEM which is not a problem unless you have to reinstall the ASC frame reinforcements.

thanks for the heads up, the body guy is going to cut out the damaged sections of the rockers rather than a full install because of the way the aft part of the rockers are hidden under the asc interior supports. Good to know that the aftermarkets are shorter, it would create an issue with the rivet holes. Right now the debate is do we want to remove the asc supports to check for corrosion (does not appear to be any but cant be sure until they are removed.

I havent had much luck finding any 1/4 blind rivets, any ideas as to where to locate some?
