found a "barn" find😃 1990 mclaren clea

Post by chevyjones »

Got a 1990 asc mclaren coupe for 1500 bucks. 65000 original miles, needs work. All original, unmolested. Cant wait to drive it! Ive seen the car sitting for over a decade, never knew it had a turbo. These cars are badass!

Not adding up

Post by svo413 »

A couple of things don't add up for for an ASC Capri or Mustang going by published information.
1. No coupes made in 1990
2. No turbos made on ASC Mustangs or ASC Capri's 84-90
3. Numbers listed 128515, one would assume that would be the last 6 didits of the VIN. 1990 ASC Mustangs started with 132XXX. All Capri's 84-86 started with 6XXXXX.

Possibly it's a different model.

asc Grand Prix's don't really fall under this site. We are primarily for the Mustang and Capri asc cars.

Regardless, the asc Grand Prix cars are rare and very cool and I think they were turbo from asc for GM.

That is a great find.
