If you are asking me ~ no records were kept by ascMcLaren as to options on the cars, other than transmission type for 1986 only.

Other Options that were available on the 1986 (only) Coupes were:
Power Door Locks & remote hatch release
Automatic Transmission
Speed Control
T-Tops (or)
Pop Up Manual Sun Roof

1985s were "option-less" until the last 20 or so cars when
Speed Control & Power Door Locks were permitted.

Regardless, 615779 was Raven Black with Silver Metallic Tapework & Anthracite Wheels. It was recieved at ascMcLaren on June 23rd 1986, was converted on June 24th 1986 (the next day! ~ Unusual!) and shipped out on June 25th ! 3 day car! It was a Full Packaged example and was the 5th from-the-last unit made !! It's Dash Plaque # was # 110. The car made just before it, was MINE !
Hey there guys, I think a mistake has been made....

It could be one of three things:
1. The VIN you recieved is not correct for this car.
2. The VIN you checked does not correspond with car #110.
3. The car in question has been stolen from my storage unit in the past few weeks and made a trip to Michigan where it has been parted.

I believe the likely choice is #2. My VIN is 615761. Sandy we have talked several times about this car and it being the car just after yours. Mine is as you describe-Black with Silver.

I will also check when I get home whether or not my car (#110) has ended up in Michigan...if so, you will see me on national news tonight following my "spree" of sorts.

Plumkrazy, if you decide not to bid would you please send pics and any info to: wayne.degler@aviano.af.mil I would really like to try for the car but I want to make sure it is worth it first. I won't bid against you though so if decide not to bother please let me know as soon as you can. If you have a pic of the sunroof I can tell you if it is factory (ford) or not. I have owned quite a few capris and about half had sunroofs.

I am glad you updated me, I just got home and started to think more and more about that car, and so I got a whole mess of stuff together to take to storage just as an excuse to check the car. Once the wheels started turning in my head, there was no stopping them. Got myself worked up a little after I started thinking about it more and more.

In any case, do you have any info on #111? Wonder if it came from the same shop as 109 and 110.....Probably not if memory serves me right about the story of our 2 cars.

It seems like there are a fair number of 85 coupes that deviate from the build specification.

I think when all is said and done you're going to find that alot of the 85 cars that were built towards the end had oddball options thrown in...not because they were requested by asc but because Ford was having a tough time filling the order.

The GP4s probably add a piece of the puzzle as Ford scrambled to fill the order and had to "adjust" it.

I asked Hank in Florida about things like TTops and Sunroofs and he said its not unheard of. He told me he has seen varieties of options here and there on the 85 coupes.

Power Windows were standard. Not an option.

Safe to say that some 1985 McLarens had speed control and other items listed in the Capri Brochure as optional, even though ascMcLaren literature listed no FoMoCo factory options were permitted.
