1985 ASCMcLaren coupe
I believe it is time to let my coupe go to the next owner. I have owned it for quite awhile, had big plans, etc...
However, they have never materialized and I realize it isn't going to happen. It is certainly a project car, but one that is running and driving pretty well.
152k
Car has been converted to EFI with an '86 harness modified with MAF harness
Maximum motorsports panhard bar
Maximum motorsports subframe connectors
Maximum motorsports lower control arms
87+front brakes
Stainless front brake hoses
KYB 3 way adjustable struts
3" custom Cold air intake
TEA ported Victor EFI intake
30lb injectors
255lph fuel pump
Trick flow 170cc heads
Flowtech LT headers
Edelbrock stainless catback
2.5 x pipe
BBK underdrive pulleys
Electric fan
95 amp 3G alternator
I also have a low mileage short block with Anderson motorsports N-21 cam, windage tray that could go with car for $300 extra
3.55 gears
Auburn HD limited slip differential
MGW shifter
FRPP Aluminum driveshaft
Car needs paint and has some rust, driver door is pretty bad, but I have a rust free door to go with car. The original hatch was really rusted and I have a rust free 86 hatch on the car now. Non paint matching. I also have all the ASC ground effects. Unpainted though. Small dent on roof, pass side.
If you have a body shop or a body/paint connection you could have a nice car pretty easily.
The interior is in really nice shape, probably best part of the car. Dashpad is cracked like they all are though.
Very nice almost new oem leather steering wheel and shift knob. 140 mph speedo
Dyno 300whp
1/4 mile 13.2 @105mph
I'm sure there is much more done to the car that I can't remember
$3500
I am going to check interest on it and would like to sell it whole, but it is probably worth a bunch more parted out.

Yep, they fit perfectly fine with stock pistons, stock cam. Absolutely woke the car up. Like 75hp or something. It's obviously not a low mile motor either, so with the low mile shortblock and cam I'm certain it would gain 20-30 hpChuckG wrote:I'm curious about those heads. Did you have to change out the '85 pistons to clear the valves? Running the stock cam?

Yes I have the spoiler as well. I think the 86 hatch needed redrilled or something for the asc spoiler. Never got to it.
It has some small quarter panel rust, and a section that is rusted through on right rear, right below the rear seat bottom. I had a steel replacement panel made to be welded in.
Strut towers good but i know i coated the strut tower/frame rail junction with por15 where rust was starting. Core support was bent when i got car, never affected anything so its still bent.

Thanks! They're on my mind if I ever have to do anything with the heads. They've always been a breathing problem on Windsors. Cams are fine, but the heads are restrictive.jeffmclaren wrote:Yep, they fit perfectly fine with stock pistons, stock cam. Absolutely woke the car up.
