Has anyone repainted a Coupe rear wing?

Post by ChuckG »

I have a few small specks where the original grey paint has failed. I'm debating repainting the entire wing. Mine is the original urethane style.

Any experience anyone would like to share? I imagine it takes a ton of flex additive. I know on a warm day, my wing can be squeezed significantly, allowing me to clean previously inaccessible spots along the bottom edge.

Mine was repainted. Yes, if you are using automotive paint, add flex additive (this is how mine was done).

Otherwise, you can use a trim paint like SEM automotive spray can paint and you should be able to scuff, clean and spray. SEM stuff sticks really well to plastics but it won't be glossy like automotive paint.

Yeah, the SEM is great stuff--but I figured if it's coming off, I want to do it so it lasts another forty years.
