FYI Tonneau Cover Pull Down
One of the spare parts that came with my car when I bought it was a replacement switch assembly for the tonneau cover pull down motor. Little did I know the whole assembly was laying in the trunk unassembled. I haven't tracked down the motor yet but the switch is a Cadillac part number 16603372. Price was $15.36 in 1998. I imagine the pull down motor is from the same Cadillac car.

Yes, it's from a 1989 to 1993 Cadillac Power Trunk Lid Pull Down Motor

I know that Camaros of the same vintage and even earlier had pulldown motors on the hatch. Is it possible that they are the same?

Most Buick and Olds from the same Mid-80's vintage are the same, as well as some from Lincoln Town Cars, Continentals, and Marks. I have a Lincoln one on my bench and an Olds one in my car.
If you go to a Pull-a-Part type yard you will find two types that look exactly alike, but one has a 3 wire plug and the other has a 4 wire plug. Only the 3 wire one will work...

Can anyone tell if this is the appropriate pull-down motor? Perhaps I'm pesimistic, I'm keeping an eye on these for when mine inevitably craps out. Also, if someone can confirm the model/part number for the relay, that would be very helpful.

Here's an easy way to tell. Send the link to Hank. If he (50sc) bids on it, its probably the right motor. Then simply out bid him or buy it from him after the auction.bryanoekel wrote:Can anyone tell if this is the appropriate pull-down motor? Joking aside, you're probably right. Here's an easy way to tell. Send the link to Hank. If he (50sc) bids on it, its probably the right motor. Then simply out bid him or buy it from him after the auction.

I forgot the Capris and Mustangs had different mechanisms (hook/latch vs. screw down, right?). I'm guessing this wouldn't work for the Mustangs
