FYI 86 ASC Coupe F/S

Found an ad in today's Chicago Sun Times for an 86 ASC McLaren Capri. Blue/Orange. 90k miles. He's the original owner and has all the paperwork. Just got off the phone with him, he'll be emailing me picsin an hour. Although, he says someone has already contacted him willing to pay ALOT. Anyone on here? Because it sounds like I lost out already.

Haven't heard anything yet. Anything in the registery in northern Illinois? Gurnee I think. The ad was posted in the paper, not online, so i'm assuming he's not very computer savvy.

Pics are in my album. Car is number 108. I'll post the last 6 of the vin when I get it. looks like a tear in the drivers seat and the steering wheel, and the usual wavy side skirts and rear valance. Asking price $4000. What do you think? Pic 7 is my feel good pic of the day.

1st of all, what's with washing the car and leaving it wet, what're they hiding??

Second, the driver's floormat looks awfully sunken in the foot area, rust hole??

3rd, passenger door panel looks wet, why?

Fourth, side skirts look like hell and rear does seem out of wack.

I think $4k seems a lot high.

I agree with Tom, ESPECIALLY on the driver's side floor! That puppy is GONE! I don't see what others see wrong withthe rear end.
The good part is 95%of all parts are there. # 108 ? Mines' # 109. I wonder if they were friendly to one & other ?

i see the drivers side floor but i think others eyes are playing tricks on them with the wavy wing and wavy rear valance it seems like the rear is messed up but i think its looks right.... floormats!

The warped wing and warped lower valence may have something to do with it...but it almost looks like the rear hatch itself is skewed....like something heavy sat on that corner for 10 years and now its out of whack.

The good part is that the power window and door handle/frame switchgear are flat black !!

Well chances are my cousin and I are going to check it out this weekend. He's more interested than I, as he owned my coupe before I got it. That white 86 that was discussed on here with the oddball ground effects with orange wheels is semi local too. Maybe we'll check that out as well.

just picked up #108 for $2200.00 today. yes it needs some work.
the sides skirts are both cracked, rear deck lid is okay it just needs some adjustments and new rubber pads, the driver seat is torn along with steering wheels, the seat mount is broken, nothing wrong with the pans themselves, very little rust anywhere on the car, but all in all a very decent car. I just couldn't pass up the car for that price. it will slowly get restored.
