Well .... 'ya, that & leaf compost sites. I still like them. If I could find a NOS set, I'd have them painted Smoke Charcoal Grey and install on my 86. I REALLY like their look. Mine would not get dirty. There's a roof over the garage :D

Am I missing something, all I see is a regular capri hood? Or did something replace the grill inserts on the hood? Cant really tell from the pic and my knowlage of the capri :)

Sandy,

The gentleman in Ohio that has the 85 with the scoops, have you seen the car? I was wondering if the stripes were the same as the 84 or like the 85.

No, I am unaware of any example in Ohio, or the owner. Maybe you could hook us up ? I was told that all of the 25 1984s were like this, and a "handfull" of 1985s. The pictured car was in fact a 1985. In addition, these cars had a different Radar mount that was VERY interesting. What you are familiar with is the Whistler control panel mounted under the dash just slightly to the left of the glove box door. This car with the hood scoops (as well as other 1984s & a few '85s) had it INSIDE the glove box, and the lowest and most toward the driver section of the glove box door was cut out (off) to allow the radar detector's faceplate to show and was flush with the closed glove box door. When open, the door swung down and away, and did not touch the radar control box. ASC removed the doors and cut them to exact measurements to frame the face of the radar control box, which was contained IN the glove box. It was very cool. 1984s also had the Kenwood 2 post stereo, but no auto tranny option, nor T-Top / SunRoof option. All were Dk Blue / Orange. No Power Door Locks, on them, either......
