it says they are expecting around 500 cars, so as long as you get there in the morning, you should be all set.

we can always have all asc guys meet up somewhere close then cruise in together. or maybe just contact the site admin & see if we can get a area reserved for asc's.
i believe i read that after they get the number of cars coming that they were going to take this years theme cars (mach 1, cobra & bullit) & put them in a certain spot. then special interest clubs would be next.
there is a space on the form when you sign up to state what club your with.
i put in 1985 motorsport capri registry, but i imagine we could put something else down.
how about Michigan ASC/McLaren Association (or MAMA for short)?
but seriously, i am sure someone can come up with something a little less humorous. there is alot of ASC's in michigan & alot of them are still daily drivers (all 87-90 cars). there is probably more in the michigan area than anywhere else (Sandy, statistics please! ). it would be neat to have an honest to goodness ASC/McLaren car show. maybe have 3 or 4 shows around the country. i know that the NY/New Jersey area & Kansas City were big sales markets for the cars so maybe have a show for the east coast, detroit area, down south & one on the west coast?

anyone who plans on taking there asc capri/mustang to the mustang alley better sign up asap. they are only taking 500 registrations & they are up to 407 registered cars as of 2:30am est 7/17/06

I will be there, but I don't know what time. I work from 5am to 330pm so It might be to late for me to line up with you guys this year. Last year at that time i was unemployeed at that time so I had all day to sit there. I might be late but I will be there. I wll also call everyone that was with me last year and see if i can get them to come.

There is 5 gp4 cars (so far) meeting up in the morning & then cruising in to the mustang alley together. if anyone wants to meet up with us, they are more than welcome(as long as they have a capri or mustang).
if your interested & have not signed up for the mustang alley yet, do so quick, there is only 7 spots left as of 8am est monday july 31.

Is there a specific place we are parking in the Mustang area? Where are all of you meeting in the morning?

by the way, they've increased the capacity for Mustangs from 500 to 540.

Is there only 2 convertibles registered from '85-'90?

i am working out the details of the spot we are planning to meet up at.
the location will be about 15 or 20 minutes from mustang alley.
details & directions will be posted after this weekend.

where we park at the mustang alley is determained by the people running the event. however when we all cruise in together, we can all park together.

the mustang alley parking plan has been updated & a whole street block has been reserved for asc mclarens. it appears they lumped all the asc's that signed up in 1 area
total asc count: 10
85 gp4 - 5
85 coupe - 1
86 - 1
88 - 2
89 - 1


tfs2121 if your not going still, you should contact the mustang alley & let them know. it will free up a spot. current registration is at 575 & there is now a waiting list. maybe another mclaren could get the spot if you dont plan on attending.

for those interested, the gp4 cars will be meeting in Dearborn across the street from Ford Motor Co. world headquarters.
we will meet at the library(next to the police station) on Michigan ave.
prior to departing for the dream cruise, we will take some photos infront of Ford Mo Co HQ.

the time we are meeting at the henry ford library in Dearborn is 7:00 AM.
we will be parked right in front of the fountain right on Mich. Ave.

directions:

coming from the west
- take I-94 east to Southfield freeway north.
take southfield north to Michigan Ave east. go 1/4 mile & library is on the right.

from the east:
I-94 west to Southfield freeway north. take southfield north to Michigan Ave east. go 1/4 mile & library is on the right.

From the north:
1-96 east to Southfield freeway south. take southfield south to Michigan Ave east. go 1/4 mile & library is on the right.

from the south:

1-75 north to Southfield Road. continue on southfield road until it turns into southfield freeway. continue on southfield freeway to Michigan Ave east. go 1/4 mile & library is on the right.
