Well, I went ahead and registered. I also checked out the numerous "official" Mustang Alley pics from 2006. A few comments:

1. I didn't count the pics, there seemed to be alot, but no pics of any ASCs or GPIVs that were there. Plus there were numerous duplicates of many cars. There was 1 picture taken from the sidestreet road next to the parking lot that was assigned to the ASCs, the picture was of a couple people standing in the street and you can see the parking lot in the back with the red '89 ASC in the distance. :?

2. Jason or Mark, if you guys are the ones organizing this and were there last year, maybe you can answer this: What was with the 2 white service-type cargo vans in the front of the parking lot last year that pretty much acted like a nice barrier wall from the ASCs and the street? Oh yea, plus the 10 x 10 canopy tent in front of the vans. What was that? The vans should've been in the back of the lot.

Ah, I see, I thought the canopy went with the 2 vans.

Thats too bad the vans were there like that. Hopefully they won't be there this year. Its funny, you didn't see large cargo vans in front of the cobras & shelbys.

Sandy, its too bad you won't consider coming, it'd be a good chance for many of us to meet you, since you've been front and center for all these years in regards to our cars, and see one of your cars (just don't bring the blue one - ) Up to this point across the country of all the car shows you'll see the most ASC products together at one time at this one, plus I think there was an Imperial club there with over 100 cars in the lot - ok, just kidding. But seriously, I'd like to see your silver car in person, never seen one. But your capri would probably be the one to knock'em dead....

No false promises. I can't make it & will not be there, but I am floored by the nice compliments and my head is growing.

I had a first & sudden attack of severe arthritis, whch actually left me totally crippled. This began SUDDENLY on the morning of April 21st. I spent April 21st until May 6th in bed, except to take myself & my crutchs & cane to the Ortho (bone Dr) for X-Rays. Nothing broken, just severe attack of arthritis in the right leg, where you fold it backwards. The leg could taken no...NO weight on it, thusly crutches. I am now off of them & use a cane - BUT only for going DOWN stairs, not going up stairs.
I tire out quickly, and there's NO WAY, I could be that far away, from home. Everyday I get like 5% better. I went out for the 1st time yesterday & drove the Cherokee. Not far, just to the deli for some food.
MY local show - the bigiee - is May 20, I am working up to being there, with the Silver Anniversary car.

This situatiion is not permanent. It will slowly ease down, but will most likely reoccur each spring when the weather begins to turn from cold to warm(ER). It's so so so painful. I hate - I deplore being housebound. So, I am now working towards being out a bit longer each time. I go with no cane, and no casual observer would know. I have NO limp....NONE. I just tire out quickly and need to head home, again, quickly, to lie down and get off the feet.
We think this is the result of a bike accident I had around age 9. It struck in March of 2005, totally skipped 2006 and hit again in April 2007.

So, I need to stay close to home (or Motel 6). At my Millburn show I can sit in my car, when & if need be, but I do intend to walk the length & back at least once.

I do not drink I do not like or enjoy booze. Never did. Cigars are my vice. The pain was so great I sent the wife out to get me a bottle of Hennessy Cognac. I finished it in 2 nights !! Stuff works ! It's good stuff. :P Buzzzzzz

So, thanks, but now you'll understand that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. At least for the immediate future.

Dream Cruise Head Count

Post by 87ASCMcSteve »

Sounds like some great plans you are putting together for the Dream Cruise. As I mentioned earlier when I started this Dream Cruise discussion, my wife and I have MANY fond memories of previous Dream Cruises plus since my wife grew up in Detroit on the East side, she cruised Woodward in high school in the early 60's. But since we live now in Florida, we WON'T be driving the McLaren there but WILL BE THERE THIS YEAR and are looking forward to meeting all of you and anxious to see all of the McLarens in one place!!!!

just a reminder that we need to make a decision soon as to if we are going to try for our own lot. so far only 2 people have said they are attending & that is not enough to justify renting our own lot. there is going to be about 6 GPIV's attending bringing our total to about 8 cars. I know its only been a week since we asked for a head count, but
if we dont have a significant amount of cars by the end of may i am going to suggest we go for the mustang alley again this year.

Thats impressive considering that there were only what 30 made???

I'd love to see 20% of the McLarens gathered together. Wow, could you imagine 360 or so?.........

Thats really not fair. Those cars are not even a month old and have not had a chance to venture out in the real world. LOOK they are even CAGED UP. Lets see a REUNION picture of those 75.
