Power Window Switch module- part locations

Post by McDave »

I have an 86 Mclaren w/power windows, need the dual driver side rocker switch assembly. Both the copper pin switches and the electrical contact these mount into. If you have a resource to buy these please let me know . I will contact Mercury/ Ford tomorrow. but wondered if this may be available on the web somewhere?

I purchased the car 2/3/07, from a guy with too many others to work on. Knowing this car met 2 of the three criteria I was looking for (V8,& Convert) o well, 5 Spd was wanted , the Automatic was an option I could live with. I wanted a car I could drve now and fix up over time. This one seemed to have the right mix at the right price. :D

Wow she is really beautiful! Are the ground effects original? I am not as familiar with the Capri's as I am Mustangs. Thanks.

I am going to guess that the ground effects are are original or were added very soon after the car was purchased since it looks like the front air dam has a very straight vertical crack in it. Only the original air dams would do this. Replacements wouldn't crack like that since they are a different material.

Just thinking out loud.

Either way that is a very nice car you have there!

Thanks for the vote, but now the work begins, I pulled the vent over the Wipers and m starting to sand of some of the surface rust. This car was previously owned by some who lived on the saltwater. I noticed some surface rust spots and will need to plug a hole or two in the wiper compartment. For now its tim on the sander.
