Anybody know what happened to this car?

Its the 1983-1984 NHRA Official Pace Car.

It has the early 1983 ascMcLaren Sports Package on it.

Very cool. Where did you find the article? I wonder what the Cougar station wagons looked like. It's too bad that there weren't any photos of them.

The link worked fine. Good site. I remember seeing those Cougar wagons back in the old days (it disturbed me greatly at the time to see the name affixed to so mundane a vehicle, but today it does not bother me so much). I wonder how the ones mentioned in the article posted by Negusm differ in appearance from the run-of-the-mill wagons.
