Finally my "86 Vert" with pics!!!

Post by dan708 »

Here she is the "Mighty Mac"
I've been lurking on here for years (but gone for awhile) also talked to Sandy years ago and registered her with him.

Vin; 1MEBP7937GF619520

Sandy while lurking thru past posts I read about your illness,
Keep fighting the fight brother!!!
You are very much appreciated and respected on these boards and I wish you nothing but the best, also a warm hearted thank you for all the time and energy you put into these boards while you fight through your illness.

Sandy say's, (if I recall correctly she is a pretty rare lady)
I promised him pics years ago and finally I have some!
Sorry for the delay

She is an 86 Vert
Blue rag top
6cyl. 3.8 L
42,000 or so, original mi.
Seats are a little faded
Seat belts are?
Well you folks all know about the seat belts.
Original stereo and alarm are gone.
Original horn is still there
Missing one center cap for wheel.
Could use a few other things, that have been neglected for various reasons but now I'm ready to get back in the game.

Don't know what else to add at the moment
If there is anything you'd like a pic of or more info?
For that matter if you folks could lend your expertise on certain questions I might have would be great!!!

Dan

Hi 'Ya, DAN ~ and thanks for the good personal thoughts. May you never know what a FIGHT it has been! Since Nov. 19th '07 I've been a regular at the hospital and tests on tests, been cut open in more places than all my cars have mles on 'em

Mike has given you the decode of the VIN. Yopur car looks nice, really nice and rarer than a ham sandwich in a kosher deli !

My memory ain't was she was, sometimes I g   f up. BUT, I seem to recall locating a grand total of 4 (four) Six (6) cylinders. 1 black & 3 white. Your cruise control is also rare, especially wehen coupled with the Six Cyl.

Hang around, Bro

Sandy :blob: to see you!

PS /

On the last 6 digits of the VIN 619520 = CUN the 9520
represents the 9,520th 1986 Capri to be made........................
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

1990 Final Car prior to the 12 Silver Anny Editions
1990 Silver Pearl Anny Edition
1986 Coupe Full Pkg #109 of 114.

Man Peter I really wish I could make it to Woodward this year
Booked this weekend.
Thanks for the offer tho

I'm shooting for next year.
Hopefully by then I'll have the drivetrain and suspension where I want it!!!

Nothing crazy just some clean up and OEM!!!

Believe me I would like to keep her as original as possible, except for cosmetics ,i.e. radio, etc.

By the way she does have the single tailpipe, I'll try and post some shots of the underbody in the next couple of days as I will have access to a hoist.

Have fun at the cruise bro!!!

But the radio is the first thing to NOT replace. It is rare to see an asc with the original Kenwood or Alpine radios anymore!

From time to time they pop up on e-bay. Keep her original! Original(s) have now become the rarest, and customs and/or upgraded or altered are the norm. Total flip/flop from 1985.
